Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars no substance here.......2006-05-14

Clocking in at a mean 38 minutes....I feel that I know nothing more about Dweezil as a musician/guitarist after listening to this CD. I had never heard Dweezi's music before listening to this . I don't see a standout composition on the release. There is no fiery technical brilliance here and many tracks are just plain silly. A huge disappointment. I'll stick to Neil Zaza and Andy Timmons for melodic content and great songwriting. This cd contains the jackassery of Frank with no substance and no brilliant guitar playing.

5 out of 5 stars Technically Excellent.......2005-08-14

I bought this cd a couple of years ago when it came out.. and I find it very good listening. I really think that DZ, if he put his mind to it, could be quite the guitarist his father was... or even more so.. but his output is so ... slow... it is very hard for fans to get enough of DZ.

This cd is full of air tight studio works that really have a metal edge alongside a medolic edge, which a lot of metal just doesn't have.

I think it is worth five stars.

2 out of 5 stars Better than Confessions.......2004-06-12

It's definitely taking him way too long to mature. Still a very good guitar player, an excellent shredder, but hardly a excellent musician. This guy may never be visited by the Muses and I am loosing hope.

5 out of 5 stars Great instrumental stuff!.......2003-06-26

This is the first CD I heard by Dweezil, and it will always be my favorite. The guitar solos are amazing, especially "Purple Guitar" and "Fawkstension", showing that Dweezil is as great a guitarist as his father, Frank. "Mr. Grinch" is well done, great music and perfect vocals by Ahmet Zappa. "Dick Cinnimon's Office" is a short, funny audio track featuring Dweezil's girlfriend Lisa Loeb. This is one of the best instrumental CD's I have heard, right up with Satriani's "Surfing with the Alien", another clasic. Guitar Work doesn't get much better than this.

4 out of 5 stars good...but not his best.......2003-01-15

this cd is a good listen throughout, but it dosen't compare to his last two solo cds (shampoohorn not included).
