Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful.......2007-01-10

Curt is absolutely AMAZING! Not a better songwriter in existence! Put together perfectly. Can't wait to hear the New Meat Puppets cd!

3 out of 5 stars Surrealistic Poetry.......2006-10-02

However abrasive his presentation Pearl Jam's 'Lion' does have a point, all the tunes on this album are pretty homogenous. Despite Kirkwood's status as a guitar hero, largely deserved in my not so humble opinion, I think it should be acknowledged that his truest talent is in writing poety of the surrealistic variety. On that level he succeeds admirably with this alubm and as such it is worth a shekel or so. In addition, the album cover features llamas which those in the know understand are the coolest species to inhabit the earth.

5 out of 5 stars you know it's cool .......2006-04-19

blah, blah, blah, what i'm gonna say here on this valid comment on a album by an artist who used to be in a famous band that were the pioneers to the grunge explosion at the end of 1991 with kurdt donald cobain and his unique vision of morbid happy
freedom to be sloppy as long as it has a good sound kurdt donald cobain in my eyes and in many million's around the globe think he's a genius..
but as commented this is a review on an album by a former member of an 80's physco-delic rock band the meat puppet's
whom nirvana covered on their unplugged with fellow puppeters in toe.

this album is a beautiful, mellowed ballsy, and enlighting album, you can just imagine, dim light candles and a lingering fragance of a sweet lavender, in the air when you play this masterpiece[maybe it's my imagination gone wild]

this is an cracking album filled to the brim with thoughtful melodies and hooks and a gentle and provoking voice plus an added bonus the lyrics are superb, this album has lots of different themes, that are not, just as simple as they seem

curt kirkwood is truly an talented artist and this solo album showcases he's true ablilty that brethen's any fleeting interest an listener has to, hear such gentle rain with sun beams play within confines of a compact disc,

ROCK ON WITH BEAUTY MAN!!!!!!!!! this ain't no lake of fire,
you've been imersed in the flames now it's time for the after thought

2 out of 5 stars EVERY SONG ON THIS ALBUM PRETTY MUCH SOUNDS EXACTLY THE SAME.......2006-03-22

The reason this album has such a good rating, is because little indie snobs come here & think they're so cool & underground for liking albums like these, they'll give any indie album 4-5 stars just to look cool & feel like they fit in

Indie people are funny... The idea is if it's not mainstream, it's good.. In actuality, the people here reviewing this album know it's not a very good album, they just give it a good rating to look "cool" & fit in, in an underground sense.. Just how when people like Green Day (who sucks) the same indie snobs who are sheep & will praise albums like this insult those people for "following the crowd", can anyone say "irony"?

Indie cred doesn't save this album from songs that sound EXACTLY THE SAME... The only real song on this album that stands out & is decent is the song "In Bones", & even then it gets too repetitive

Don't take my word for it, listen to the samples, the songs are all mid-tempo acoustic country twang songs... Diversity is alien on this album

It sounds like a cheap rip-off of Neil Young, I won't be listening to this album again.

Consider this the only honest review this album has gotten thus far. I respect Curt Kirkwood, I just wish he wrote more than 1-2 songs for 'Snow'.
