4 out of 5 stars Classic NYC hip-hop...........2007-03-28

Queensbridge and Iraq connect on an underground classic... Albums like this today are far and few.. The only knock on CNN is that they don't make too many group albums together to be considered on of the greatest...

4 out of 5 stars Special Report.......2006-01-20

People watch CNN channel 10 for The War Report on how Capone, Norega, and Tragedy Khadafi stay Top Of New York! They went all out with this one with the whole Iraq and Kwait thing. I believed the production from Tragedy and Havoc blew this album away. Despite Capone in jail for a parole violation, Noreaga had to do lots of tracks without him, and he was well missed on the tracks that he deserved to be on. But Noreaga and Tragedy held it down while he was locked up.

There are tracks that stand out like "Driver Seat" with Iman Thug and Busta Rhymes (if you want to count him in -even though his verse was removed), T.O.N.Y. the lead single, Stay Tuned (Thug Paradise Interlude), Capone Bone- people stop hating on this song! I love this song for some reason, Halfway Thugs- Nore rips this one up, L.A.,L.A.- the response to The Dogg Pound's N.Y.,N.Y.

Nice CD overall, but unfortunatly neither one of them can rhyme like the way they used to.

Soon after appearing in The Source's Unsigned Hype, Capone -N- Noreaga signed to Tommy Boy and released their debut The War Report. This Queens Bridge duo has an unmatched chemistry with Capone's raspy flow and Noreaga's up-beat slang makes a good one, two punch. The first song, "Bloody Money", has Nore single handedly flowing over a multi-piano sample. As most of the songs are being aided by Tragedy Khadafi you could still hear for example on "Capone Bone" where these two can handle themselves even on a smooth R&B tune. Because Capone was jailed during the middle of production, his appearance is dearly missed as said on "Live On Live Long". "Iraq (See The World)" featuring Castro, Musolini, Mendosa & Troy Outlaw is a track over a loud violin loop that brought the frontlines closer to Lefrak. Track 12, which is actually called "Thug Paradise" was typed "Stay Tuned (Interlude)". As The War Report segment begins, Peter Jennings would still tune in.

4 out of 5 stars Channel 10 Blood Sport.......2005-07-25

Back in 1997 when shiny suit rap was taking over the hiphop music scene, a grimey duo from Queens NY, Capone-N-Noreaga dropped the street classic The War Report. The album is right behind other street classics such as Mobb Deep's Infamous, Raekwon's ..Cuban Link, and Nas' Illmatic. It boasts the buzz-gaining "L.A. L.A." w/ Mobb Deep and Tragedy, an answer record to the Dogg Pound's "NY NY". The production is straight raw beats provided by EZ Elpee, Buckwild, Lord Finesse, Clark Kent, Havoc from Mobb Deep, Marley Marl and Bay Boy Hitmen producers Nashiem Myrick & Carlos Broady, who produce The War Report favorites "T.O.N.Y." and "Driver's Seat". Also peep other War Report hits "Blood Money", "Stick You" & "Illegal Life". Noreaga isn't the best lyricist, having some decent verses and then having some bad ones through out the album. Since Capone is only on like half the songs since he got locked up while recording the album, Tragedy Khadafi take his place on some songs, providing relief to Noreaga's sometimes akward rhyming. A solid album none the less and I recommend it to anyone a fan of street rap like Nas, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang.

5 out of 5 stars N.Y. Classic.......2005-07-19

This album is one of the best in history. All tha songs are tight
pone n n.o.This album probably didn't sell to much because it was
