Customer Reviews:
Work this good deserves much recognition.......2006-02-19
Where do I start? I never wrote a review before, never cared too. But I must spread the great work of this LP that has to be some of the best underground work I ever heard.
Back around 2001 when the album dropped I was at Hot Hits, a local record store on Detroit's outskirts that had 'Flood the Streetz' posters literally covering the windows of the store. After Sue the owner assured me I would like the CD or she would personally give me my money back how could I refuse especially since I supported the local Detroit underground music scene anyhow but still I picked it up, started bumping it in my ride on the way out, and was honestly blown back. From that point I would play it for friends and they too loved it also. Although some time after my car was broken into and my CD's and radio were stolen, including the Shane Capone CD. Now years later I started to slowly rebuild my CD collection and found Flood the Streetz on Amazon and had it shipped to me out here in Iraq. It still sounds awesome to this day.
Now the CD itself, Shane does an awesome job with representing Detroit without any corny flows. Names that one might reconize like D12, M.O.B., Paradime and Hush collaborate with Shane on this CD but it's not them at all that make this CD great. Although Paradime and M.O.B.lay nice verses on the CD, I wasnt impressed with D12's, Shane's flow and style couldn't be touched. When I think of great artist that had flow such names like Biggie come to mind, with his ability to drop a track with a story, or even Eminem's "Stan" for example, Shane does this also on a comical skit and a few tracks, Proving his lyrical talent. The beats and music, the chorus's are well done, nothing from the Intro to track 19 give any impressesion this is underground, the recording and quality come off as top of the line studio quality.
I think that about covers it, hope it helps. Also keep an eye out for "Heated Speech" Shane's new LP coming soon, for more info, check Shane's URL on Myspace www.myspace.com/shanecapone on Heated Speech, which I was able to hear already, and trust me, it's just as good, proving Shane's not a one-hit-wonder or flop that got lucky with one good CD, but that he's here to stay.
This make spirit gods happy.......2005-08-27
This was Awesome, Capone's best yet! I took some peyote and ventured into the spirit world where i put this on and danced for days... this gave me crooked eye and made me silly. All the tracks were Dope (word) I am 1/86th Cherokee Indian so I don't really like a lot of rap but this is the shiznit... go buy it today!!!!!!!! Peace
WOW!!! Flood These Streetz.......2004-03-12
One word...DOPE!!! I had slept on this album for quite a while. Recently I took a chance and picked it up. Shane Capone is one of those rare white rappers, unlike Eminem, that doesn't come across so much as corny but very much REAL, and very, very much believable. The hard delieverence in his voice and complete knowledge of his subject matter makes one believe that the majority of his music is from real life experience. To put it simply... "I was blown away by this album" and will be shocked if Shane Capone continues to be slept on for very much longer.
