Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars V-Dog deserves respect.......2004-12-31

V-Dog is a true vet in this game and he has never gotten half of the respect that he deserves. From the same hood as Playa Fly and Gangsta Blac, he has long been overlooked in Memphis rap. He's not quite to their level, but V-Dog has true talent, both behind the boards and behind the mic.

This album shows that fact in every way. After the intro, which samples one the songs he was featured on from a G.B. album, "Mudder Mudder" is the first song, and while the hook is typcial of stereotypical rap, the actual lyricism by V-Dog, Gangsta Blac, and Beanhead is great...thought-provoking. That track, like most of V-Dog's has that pure, laid-back Memphis sound, unlike the corrupted stuff that Paul & Juicy release.

V-Dog continues to show off his talent throughout the duration of this album, with the highlights being "Mudder Mudder," "Make A Move," "Other Side," "Evil in the Air," "23 Hourz," "Lay 'Em Down," "Stuck in this Game," and "Last Man Standing" (which is a 15 minute long posse track featuring about 20 rappers. Gangsta Blac, Talio, Beanhead, and especially Playa Fly are the best of the guest-appearances).

All in all, V-Dog is mature as a producer and a rapper, and has the ability and grit that should make a name for himself. Unfortunately, people won't give this guy a chance. They'd rather listen to the same old stuff from Paul & Juicy. It's sad really.

Anyway...if you want a copy of this or any of V-Dog's other albums...hit me up: JVaritek34@aol.com

5 out of 5 stars Warning: CD might contain to cool and tight music........1999-11-18

Jay-z will hit it big with this album I've heard some samples and its hotter than the last, better and bigger. It has the best beats and the cooliest lyrics. This CD is to good to be true its like one of those CD's you can just pop in and listen without messing with it and have to keep pressing repeat.
