Near-clinical detail are the watchwords on Enter the Dru, R&B quartet Dru Hill's follow-up to their double-platinum debut album. "Is it gonna be on the floor or by the sofa ... by the TV?" If you've kept up with the exploits of pseudo-rude '90s acts on the order of Jodeci and Silk, you know the, er, drill: promises of how the singers are ready to "freak" their ladies vying with whiny ballads, all attempting to demonstrate just how enlightened and sensitive these heroes are. The formula is broken here mainly by an appearance by Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man on "This Is What We Do." Which, in a Wu-mad world, hardly counts as a formula breaker at all. --Rickey Wright

4 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 Stars What Real R&B is Missing.......2007-03-10

I recently pulled this album from the crates and I feel in love with Dru Hill all over again. This album I was able to play from start to finish without skipping any songs except for the last track. Woody did his thing with his solo track "Angel" and the interludes were really nice. All of their albums were good, but the first album was their best.

5 out of 5 stars 90s soul music thrown in with classic street savvy harmony.......2007-01-13

Dru Hill's Enter The Dru was the CD that pushed the group to the fore front of the R&B game. The first single released from the CD, the up-tempo How Deep Is Your Love feat.Redman was a hit single but it was the slow jams that made this CD work. The singles These Are The Times, The Love We Had (Stays On My Mind) and of course the sentimental Beauty are all classic slow jams. Enter The Dru also featured some very strong album tracks including I'm Wondering, Holding You, I'll Be The One and What Are We Gonna Do. Enter The Dru is the best of the late-'90s R&B crooning that laces the silky-smooth grooves with splashes of street-tough shouts that are meant to antagonize as much as they are to seduce and it works very well.

5 out of 5 stars Forgot how great this album is!!.......2006-10-26

These guys definitely had talent back in the day. its so sad to see these groups that have so much talent fall apart. This album does not give you the option to skip any tunes cause every song on here is on point. Definitely a feel good album, worth the money.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Good.......2006-09-28

I must admit that when this group first came out in the nineties I couldn't stand them. But they were huge in their time the spotlight went from Jodeci to Boyz II MEN and then to Dru Hill. I guess I had my prejudices back in the day because these guys really did have talent. It was just that short guy sisquo who got on my nerves always hopping around on the stage and hunching the air with his platinum blonde -do. Songs like THESE ARE THE TIMES are classic material and bring back a lot of memories. I like upbeat song HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE FOR ME.

5 out of 5 stars One Of The Best R&B Albums .......2006-09-05

Dru Hill - Enter The Dru is one of the best R&B albums in this time period. Everything from your fast clubbing beats to your slow jam tracks, almost the whole album deserves recognition. I rarely say this about any album (except for some like Blackstreet-Another Level, Babyface-The day, Jodeci-All their albums) this CD is another gold-prized-possession of mine. Listen to the CD the whole way through and by the end of it you'll be glad you did -- do yourself a favour and cop it!
