Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Extremely rare.......2005-07-05

When I was lucky enough to get Right Quick, I was rightfully excited. Polow, for one, improved a lot on this cut. Mr. Mo and Cutty also improved slightly lyrically. There are a few worthless skits but as usual, Jim Crow doesn't let us down. They provide some fun tracks like "Holla At Me," and "Everywhere I Go." I was surprised by how solid the slower tracks like "Neva Renig" and "My Own Eyes" were. I am very angered that their third CD, Bird Sh*t, got canned a few years ago. I heard that CD was straight fire. Anyway, get this if you can get it for a reasonable price (People ask around $60 for it sometimes...).

5 out of 5 stars Holla At A Playa When You See Me On The Street Trick! Ahhhh!.......2002-04-10

I'm really surprised that this cd hasn't been reviewed yet and most people not in the Dirty South don't even know this album exists. And since Holla At A Playa is a true dirty south classic with an unforgettable chorus; they still remain true and they remain underground as well. Polow, Cutty Cartel, and Mr. Mo , otherwise known as Jim Crow, drop some trill a$$ lyrics on this cd. The production of this album is a bit more live than on their previous album Crow's Nest. Each member of the group has drastically improved their flow and they rap better than ever on this sophomore effort. This cd features production from P.A., Rob McDowell, Jazze Pha (Holla At A Playa, That Drama, Awnaw etc. etc.), and David Banner.

Jim Crow brings their own flavor of the Dirty South sound, each song has excellent beats but I believe they sound their best when the beat is swift and quick such as Say One Mo Thang and Sittin On Vogues. They have great southern accents that are audible and easily understandable. Jim Crow's delivery is very entertaining and is one of the highlights of the group. Their rhyme skills are definitely on point especially on Everywhere I Go, the best song on the album. With an excellent beat and a Great chorus (" I never met a girl not on my jock, Everywhere I go Jim Crow gon rock, Play around if you want to Play around if you want to, this thang don't stop, Play around if you want to Play around if you want to, We got this thang on lock") this could possibly be Jim Crow's best song ever; even better than That Drama from Crow's Nest. They sprinkle more humor into this album than E-40. Another plus is that the skits are actually pretty good and after numerous listens don't get annoying plus there is only three of them.

I would definitely recommend this cd to fans of groups such as Outkast, Youngbloodz or Nappy Roots and rappers like Slimm Cutta Calhoun, Redman, and Eminem. People need to support this because they have quality lyrics and music that people everywhere should be able to enjoy.
