The Perfect Swan Song.......2006-02-20
I couldn't stop playing Track 2, "Dirty Dirty"! and Track 11 "P*ssy Keep Calling" This is one of the only true pure Hiphop albums of 2004 along with De La Souls "The Grind Date". Unfortunatley Russell Jones is no longer in human existense and that's truly sad. I really miss his crazy eccentricity. He was to the Wu-Tang Clan what Flava Flav is to Public Enemy.
"Osirus Mixtape" Review.......2005-09-11
Few were sadder than myself to hear the news of ODB's passing. In a world full of manufactured rappers who try to generate record sales by pretending to be "larger-than-life", Dirty was a breath of fresh air. He was a wild, over-the-top "character" whose entoxicated flow made him the Wu-Tang Clan's most intruiging emcee and one of hip-hop's most bizarrely-entertaining attractions. "The Osirus Mixtape" is one of many tributes that is sure to come on the heals of its star's untimely death.
While a lot better than his previous "Trials & Tribulations" album (an awful mess of an LP thrown together by D3 while he was imprisoned), "Osirus" is far from being on the level of the first two Ol' Dirty Bastard albums. The opening track and first single, "Pop Shots" is the highlight of this release and "Dirty Dirty" has some of that classic ODB style (though the remix called "Fire" is even better) but a lot of the songs on here seem like studio scraps. Had Dirt been alive to supervise the release of this record, you can't help but think it might have come off a lot better. It's not awful but I was expecting a lot better.
ODB aka DIRT MCGIRT, R.I.P........2005-03-17
Like to say I never been much of a fan to O.D.B. aka "Dirt McGirt", "Big Baby Jesus", "Osirus", etc. since I heard him instantly on some videos, music of course and especially on his interview he did on VH1 when he got outta jail in May 2003. Man there's so much I had to learn from this man. Anyway if u never heard of him or never been a fan, you should check him out. Nor if u been a fan to him, here's one for you. Like to say Russell Jones had so much in his mind he had to face like how he was in involved in drugs and alcohol, how he got involved in the right place at the right time, being locked up for stuff he wasn't supposed to do, you know all those things that were inside of him.
Like to say I would love to pick up his posthumous mixtape ASAP especially his last album dropping out soon in the spring or summer. God bless you my brotha may your legacy live on between us. You'll always be a part of who I am and where I'm at today.
God luvs you and you never forsaken or never forgotten.
R.I.P. to Russell Jones aka "Ol' Dirty B*****d (1968-2004).
Poppin' Shots In the Afterlife!.......2005-03-04
I wanted to like this album so badly. I wanted to love this album; to know that ODB's works in progress were masterpieces. Unfortunately, I just couldn't. As an avid fan of Wu-Tang Clan, fans of true blue Wu will most likely agree with me. Of course, this is just my opinion, so feel free to disagree. The following is a fact though - Osirus sounds mainstream. The production is atrocious. The majority of the beats are overwhelming, loud, club/Lil' Jon style and take away from ODB's sound. Also, with ODB laying off the drugs during rhyming, his style has become more tame. ODB flows now, which is hard to get used too. There are some great songs on this one though. 'Pop Shots','Dirty, Dirty' and 'Fire' are awesome tracks. 'Stand Up' w/ Cappadonna (who I am a big fan of) is a personal fav, just because Cap and ODB sound great together. The bottom line: If you love 'dope beats' snatch Osirus. If you love classic RZA/True Master/4th Disciple production Wu-shxt, buy it just to remember ODB and put the cover art on your wall.
Nice mix tape by ODB.......2005-02-18
I am going to do it my old way where I will do it song by song but with a little Twist. I will have the Lyrics-Production and X Factor for each song on this album. Rest in Peace O.D.B.

Strenghts-well every thing by O.D.B is right on point it also has a great feel to the entire album which makes it good
Weeknesses-The Beats are a little generic at times and plus there is some lost replay value and the guest hurt.
What it should score-3.5 to 4.5 Mics it is in the middle there
