Album Description

The SONIC SUM main man emerges from hiding at last with a fairly phenomenal solo debut for Def Jux. With a combination of deep, brain-twisting rhymes and some of the most intense, cerebral and memorable production work seen in independent hip hop in the last decade, this album will have fans overjoyed and newcomers floored.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Incredible..........2006-02-04

my parents got me this album for christmas 04, and to be quite frank, its dope like heroin, period. The spaced out beats and lyrics are crafted together brilliantly, with absolutely zero filler whatsoever. The lyrics dont contain a general message per se, but individual ideas scattered throughout the songs make for a very interesting listen...this album is probably my 2nd favorite hiphop album ever...my favorite being billy woods "the chalice"...all in all, if youre looking at these reviews, just buy the album and enjoy, its one of the best.

5 out of 5 stars ????.......2005-07-06

How can anything after the release of the this album even be mentioned as a work of art? I slept on this album for a year cuz I saw it under the electronica genere. Now that I bought it, I found it to be completely 100% hip-hop circa 2004 and what it should be. New and fresh as a brand new pair of draws, this is the album of the year and best all around in the new mnillenium, its that good.

4 out of 5 stars It's about time.......2004-10-22

Ever since the release of Cannibal Ox's Cold Vein...I have been looking for an artist that can compare in depth and substance. Then there came Rob Sonic. I've only listened to this album 2 times...but so far it stands out from any other Emcee today. Sure it has it's trademark Def Jux flavor and off kilter beat style but Sonic stands out from the pack lyrically. Could be one of the best albums of the year.

5 out of 5 stars TELICATESSEN! WINS!.......2004-10-06

Well, I kind of stumbled across this and seriously it is one of the best albums this year. I kept hearing about this record but hadn't seen it anywhere? I don't usually purchase from online stores but after hearing this record from a friend I had to have it!

Top 5: Shoplift... New Car... Behemoth... Location is everything... Death Vendor!

Everything else is amazing to though

4 out of 5 stars There wasn't really any comp, Album of the Year............2004-09-15

Coming from probably the biggest supporter and fan of Def Jux (that kid u always see in Nyc with all the Def Jux apparel, making fun of the f%#s trying to sell their demos in front of Fat Beats, Tower and Virgin) Basically, toooo many complained about Aesop's beats. (Fellow Weathermen) Yakballz, instead of continuing his Millinium Falcon lyrical blasts on other records, comes out like rapper Bob 2,000,002 yapping about his bio (We wanna hear clever word-play and New S%&t, NOT about haters and growing up) and making club songs....... Vaste, the same poetic genius from Cold Vein and Atomz Fam, hits us with a album that comes in handy for a coaster with sing songy hooks, unsettling beats, and lazy writtens. And i am not gonna mention other dissapointing albums, but basically Rob does his job.. He actually makes an underground album for underground fans. Beats me on how the other guys think they gone have a chance selling more units to a wider crowd of people...(This is how Wu-Tan killed their reign b4 with the kids)If you are ungerground, stick to it!! The typical brainless thug aint planning on buying your album unless u are Cassidy's or Gun-it's lil cousin from the block, and u hit Ja-Rule in the face with a cel at the Source Awards. I told my freind back in early Feb this year when we was at Dr. Jays.."Yo don't sleep on the name Rob Sonic"....And what u get is a guy with an excellent ear for great instrumentals and laser like hooks that keeps his material time-less and 3000. Buy the album and support the "new" s%$t. Nuff said....
