Commercial Rap, Or Hip Hop?.......2007-04-16
Honestly, after hearing 'Death Is Certain', this album doesn't even come close to how good that album was. There was more commercial, or should i say "bubble gum" rap in this album than any other he has made. It seems as if over the years, Royce has commercialized his music in a way, as to make it revolve around money, drugs, and bi*ches more than anything else. This is just my opinion. I only found a few songs on this album worth listening to...Royce should get his act together and go back to making real Hip Hop!!
Edit
Vanilla.......2006-10-25
When I first heard Royce(death is certain) I was blown away by the raw hunger in that album, royce's dope lines and lyrical metaphors all serving as the main point rather than the beats. However here he seems to have reversed it, 90% of the beats for this album sound straight southern crunk, with little diversity to the clappers. This wouldnt be so bad if the lyrics were up to par but royce (in my opinion)made too many sexy/club themed songs on here and didnt write anything particulary clever that stood out. Its not horrible just not comparable to the fury of 'death is certain'. Hopefully Royce(when he gets outta jail) will devote more time to the pen and less on copying the blueprints of southern 'rappers' who are succsessfull.
Royce 5 MIC.......2005-11-18
Whats up people. For those of you just discovering Royce, let me say welcome to a new world of music. The most talented man next to TuPac(Makaveli) Shakur. This is a rising star that has been rising since before the slim shady lp!!!!! Be on the lookout for this guy in years to come. [...] doesn't give you 2 much on him but it's his official site and it's updated frequently. 3 albums, 2 versions of each. usa and import, over 25 mixtapes and he is in the studio as you read! The king of kings(on the mic) Royce da 5'9"
Must Buy.......2005-09-02
I am a huge Royce da 5 9 fan and this album is really good and worth the money. He sounds different on this album it is not like his old album maybe because he has different guest on here that no body heard of but that does not hurt the album. I like every song on here except the ones where he talks about girls because i get tired of hearing that. Buy this album
Good Album .......2005-09-02
I am pissed off because people are giving this cd some bad reviews why are you guys hating on Royce he is experimenting with new sounds and trying to find out different styles. Did you guys even hear the diss track he made towards Eminem And D12 on his album Lost Sessions Pt. 1 called Malcolm X he killed them on that song. Anyways buy this album it is worth every damn penny.
