Bone Thugs-N-Harmony innovator Krayzie Bone's follow-up to his smash solo hit, Thug Mentality 1999, paints a picture of life on the streets in a manner that's so cinematic that it would work well as a movie score. Musically heavy on eerie keyboard riffs and ambient sound, the album's most accessible songs originate from well-known samples. "Hard Time Hustlin'" is an unexpected extrapolation of Sade's "Feel No Pain" while "Time After Time," which sounds like vintage Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, coasts on Heavy D. & the Boyz's slow jam "Don't You Know." While the "thug life" mindset is getting pretty played out, the code of the streets is reality for some, and Krayzie's vision is more subtle, melodic, and thoughtful than that of many of his peers. --Rebecca Levine
Customer Reviews:
3.5 stars for the 2nd solo by Krayzie.......2006-01-18
A little over 2 years since his solo debut, Krayzie is back with one not as good and worthy of 3.5 stars (his debut is a solid 4). As with most of teh Bone Thugs solo projects this one helps proove that they are much better as a group, as most of the solo's hover around 3-4 stars, as many of their group albums are 4-5 stars in my opinion. Once again, as with his debut, a lot of songs (18) and guests (on all the songs but 5). Of the 18 songs, 8 are good, 5 or 6 I skip over, 3 or 4 are ok, and 1 is almost a classic. If he would have klicked it down to about 13 songs and cut out a lot of the appearances by his new, less talented clique, it would have been a solid album. Production is pretty good on most of the album. LT Hutton & Krayzie Bone each do 3 songs, Vachik Agiantz & Super Sako, and Def Jef each do 2 songs, Damizza, Neptunes and 5 people I never heard of all do 1 song. ot his best album but a huge fan of Kray of Bone Thugs might want to check it out.

#11 - 8 (f/ Lareece, Asu, K-Mont -- nice beat)

Mah Man Kray !.......2005-05-16
Thug on Da line = 5/5, Hard Time Hustlin Best song on Album and everything else top notch ! get it time after time
Not as great as Thug Mentality but a great album nonetheless.......2005-03-26
Thug on Da Line proves that Krayzie Bone is still one of the greatest rappers of our time. He still has the smooth flow and (most of the time) lyrics. I would reccomend this album to anyone who liked Thug Mentaiity or any Bone Thugs n Harmony albums. I really like his more mellower songs for some reason. Songs like "Talk to Myself" (which features Tiffany. You know, the pop star from the 80's) and "Hard Time Hustlin'" (Which features the beautiful and talented Sade) are really mellow and show more insight into Krayzie Bone as a real person and not just a rapper. The best songs on the Album are
Yall Don't Know Me (4/5)
Can't Hustle 4Ever (5/5)
Talk to Myself (5/5)
Hard Time Hustlin'(5/5)
Everybody wana be a Thug (4.5/5)
and
Thug on Da Line(featuring Wish Bone) (4/5)
I Found This Cd..........2005-02-18
Well worth the money, and well worth the wait.
Having listened to Bone Thugs and Harmony back in the day when they first broke out on the scene, I never paid them much attention, just heard their music either on the radio or at someone's house and pretty much left it at that.
Then I started listening to each artist, starting with Flesh N Bone (5th Dog Let Loose) and decided to try Krayzie's cd. At first I didn't think I would like it until I heard the songs Can't Hustle Forever, Talk to Myself and Gemini. After that I was sold. Since I purchase a great deal of music music online, I was instantly searching for Thug on the Line to download, to no avail...I was able to download maybe 11 songs (that I purchased of course) but not the entire cd. I started listening to the full cd on Lycos Rhapsody and let me tell you, Everybody Wanna Be Thugs, If You A Thug, Knieght Riduz Was here are now staples to play...Personally I enjoy the entire album, and I truly like what Krayzie has to say, regardless of who produced the album. This cd has substance, something that a great deal of artists lacks today...
Although I was not a stone cold Bone fan, I am slowly becoming one thanks to Bizzy, Krayzie, and Flesh...
This is definitely a cd for your collection!
Krayzie still has it........2005-02-05
First of all to everyone looking for another TM, look elsewhere. Krayzie is an artist that carries the ability to shine his talents towards many passive and extreme types of music. In this CD it is more about showing that and bringing out new talents, to which I give him props, cause there are too many people out there that are afraid of throwing their name out there to bring in possible new talent. All I can say is I liked this album and await "Gemini Good vs. Evil" to see what that brings.
