Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars COME SAMPLE SCORPIO.......2003-12-12

While this is another excellent entry in this series, the best reason to buy this disc is to get the cut of Scorpio by Dennis Coffey & The Detroit Guitar Band. Why? Because this is easily the most sampled song - EVER !!! I had it on a 45 as a child (still have it somewhere but nothing to play it on) and instantly recognized it when it started to pop up on a lot of the late 80's rap records (Young M.C.'s Bust A Move is a perfect example). Being an instrumental, this was the ultimate song to sample (the guitars, the bass, the congas). The only other place I've seen it available on CD is Kurtis Blow's The History Of Rap (Vol. I) CD.

3 out of 5 stars Didn't it blow your mind review.......2000-10-26

I only wanted this CD for "Ain't understanding mellow" but other songs made this CD even more worth the 12 bucks!
