Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Disco anthems of positive thinking.......2003-04-20

Unfortuantely, McF&W have been unfairly considered "one hit wonders" due to the fact that "Ain't No Stoppin Us Now" was their only tune to really make it big, but this selection shows that this title is unjustly deserved. These guys were really good for bringing on positive funky music at a time when it was (and still is) greatly needed. There's also the underrated "Heard it in A Love Song" which for some reasons didn't get the play it deserved. Not a bad track on this CD. BONUS-It also includes the EXTREMELY rare track "Rhythm Talk" (Ca. 1979) by legendary Soul DJ Douglas "Jocko" Henderson of Philadelphia who rapped to the tune of "Ain't No Stoppin' Us." This may have, if I recall correctly, beat out the Fatback Band's "King Tim III" and the Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" as the VERY first rap record. In either case, all the more reason to buy this. Enjoy.
