Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Owwww!!! Good God!!!! It'll make you feel good!!!!!.......2001-01-25

If you like James Brown you'll love this CD. Its one of his best compilations of the recent years. Gett Up Offa That Thing/Dr. Detroit is especially good and a very rare song to find. Granted its not his best work but its good. I think any true fan will enjoy this CD!

3 out of 5 stars Pretty Good.......2000-05-27

This is isn't as Essential as His Older Material But Nevertheless It Has it's Moments.Static was Tight.it came Out During a Time Period in Rap&Hip-Hop that His Music was Being Sampled Too Death.Gimme Your Love was TIght with Him&Aretha Franklin on Vocals.THe Remix was Tight. This Genius is The Mozart Of The last 50 Years. He Forever Changed The Way Music was Heard&Done. The Godfather is Truly One Of A Kind.

2 out of 5 stars A nice, but totally non-essential, summary of his '80s work.......1999-11-01

If you have his essential recordings from the '50s, '60s, and '70s, and still find yourself craving more-- you could do a lot worse than to pick up this rather brief set. The only bonafide "hit" is, of course, "Living in America." But before you scoff at the idea of a "best of" set of JB in the '80s, ask yourself how many artists have enough material to fill more than one "greatest hits" package. JB has earned his right to be a little self-indulgent.
