Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Geat Upbeat!!.......2007-02-21

Amber, Joceyln, Bille, La Bouche and Los has the greatest beats for this album. I am a huge fan of Amber, Joc, Billie and La Bouche. I rate this 5 stars!!

5 out of 5 stars Slammin!!.......2005-05-06

I stuggled with a slew of things on a day to day basis like brushing my cat's teeth, entering a drive thru in the correct direction and turning up the treble on my stereo. I also struggle with making the perfect party mix. Mtv has come to my rescue with this piece of heaven. I was totally hot for this girl named Grihnmin and she loved hip hop and liked to go out and party. I figured I would impress her by throwing a huge party at my house. I invited the whole Runza crew plus Kites, Meat, Sara and former cards pitcher John Tudor. I needed to come up with the perfect pary mix. 13 minutes into the party it was clear I had missed the boat. The first song on my mix was "American The Beautiful" by Ray Charles followed by 8 minutes of Jim Flowers reading weather bulletins. Luckily for me, someone left this Mtv party to go 10 disc in my pants the day before so I pulled it out. When the Macarena came on, IT was ON. G was up on my jock like I was Donny Wallburg. I turned it out and my parties became the hottest events in West O to no one's surprise.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......2000-06-29

good choice of music, good dance mixes, good variety of music, it was a very good cd, not one bad song!

4 out of 5 stars Dance meets Hip Hop.......2000-06-23

If you like dance, or if you like hip hop/R&B, than this CD is for you. Released in 1996, MTV Party to Go Vol. 10 is the last in the numbered Party To Go series, and the last to be released before pop music reclaimed the mainstream from rap, R&B, and dance music. The closest thing to pop on this CD are the first 5 tracks, Amber's This Is Your Night (#13 on pop charts), Jocelyn Enriquez' "Do You Miss Me", Billie Ray Martin's "Your Loving Arms", La Bouche's "Be My Lover (huge radio hit) and the #1 most annoying song of 1996, Los Del Mar's "Macarena". Tracks 6 through 12 will satisfy the hip hop lover, because it showcases 7 big songs from 1996. "It's All The Way Live (Now)" by Coolio wasn't the biggest song for him in 1996, but "Gangsta's Paradise" was included on Volume 8, so it would have been redundant to include it on this CD. "Tha Crossroads" by Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony was this group's biggest radio hit (crossed over to Top 40), and is still quite moving. "Lady" by D'Angelo is probably the 2nd worst song on the CD, mainly because I just find it annoying and repetitive. My favorite grouping of songs on the CD (because they are all linked together) are tracks 9 through 12, because they all have the sound that music from that year had, a nice mellow groove, and buttery lyrics. Monica's "Ain't Nobody" is a strong song, and Treach's rap gives it a rough edge that makes it even better. The kids that were Kris Kross had grown up by the time this CD came out, and their song "Tonights Tha Night" shows that, with more risqué lyrics and a smooth vibe. 2 Pac and Dr. Dre's "California Love" is a very high point on the CD, because this crossover hit was one of the last hits for 2 Pac before he was gunned down in September, 1996. The CD closes with New Jack Swing's poster girls, SWV, and their not-so-New-Jack "You're The One". This is the LP Version of the song, and is a great way to end this good CD. The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because Party To Go Vol. 7 was the best out of the group, and this didn't completely match that CD in song selection and didn't flow as well as Volume 7 did.
