Product Description

"Divine Theory, Vol. I" is a collaborative effort featuring up-and-coming rap artist, Divine, on the mic and Soul Theory behind the beats and production. The album is a definite banger from track 1 through 16, and features Divine and Soul Theory's best work to date.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars sick.......2005-12-23

The whole album was amazing, especially the beats. The best part about is that something like this came out of the south when the south has such a reputation for "crunk" music.

My only gripe about the whole album is the emcee, Divine. To me, to claim to be rich, you should be sittin on more then "half a mil." One of the hottest beats on the album was ruined by the songs F*** the Pigz. The beat was on fire, but the lyrics, and the idea of the song was awful.

Aside from the few money references and this one cop song, the album had a bunch of classic tracks. This cd included some of the dopest beats I have heard in a while. The producer, Soul Theory, also came with some of the hottest lyrics on the tracks he was on. He knew how to perfectly compliment his beats with his voice (Hip Hop for Life, Real Emcees II). Soul Theory had the sickest line on the whole cd when he said "Im a diamond when im flowing on tracks, and i dont got time for no cubic zirconia cats" and then later followed it up with the self boasting line on the SAME track "im not the jordan of rap, hes the soul theory of b-ball." With such lines as these, its a shame he wasnt on more of the album.

1. Grand Entrance - nice intro beat
2. Divine Theory - 9/10
3. Reality - 8/10 nice lyrics and nice beat
4. Special - hot beat ruined by lyrics Beat(10/10) Lyrics(4/10)
5. W.O.B - one of the best beats on album, great lyrics 10/10
6. Money Hungry Interlude - stupid money songs, ruined the beat
7. On the Grind - classic beat 10/10
8. Let's Go - 8/10
9. Hip Hop for Life - AMAZING 10/10
10. Birth of a King - 7/10
11. What I Want - Emcee comes through, beat is bangin 10/10
12. F*ck them Pigz - horrible lyrics. I question the "gangster" that the emcees show - Lyrics(1/10) Beat(8/10)
13. Naice Interlude - nice beat to get me back into the album after the horrible track before it
14. Together Forever - Emcee saves himself with these lyrics, hot beat - 9/10
15. Real Emcees II - Progress and Soul Theory murder this track, Divine is questionable. The beat truly is "bangin" - 10/10
16. Death and Life - 9/10 im in awe of the beat and the lyrics are superb!
17. hidden track - 8/10

overall. One of the best albums ive heard all year, with some low points from the emcee Divine, but the producer Soul Theory blessed this cd so well that it made up for the lows
