This collection of album tracks from the Miracles' heyday functions as a shadow greatest-hits collection. Indeed, if the group hadn't been blessed with such a prolific leader, tunes such as "More, More, More of Your Love," "From Head to Toe," "Swept for You Baby," and "Backfire" might have found their places on the radio. As it is, casual Smokey fans have a dozen or more hidden classics to discover here. --Rickey Wright

5 out of 5 stars You'll Want More, More, More..........2001-05-15

This collection is one of a series of "More Of The Best" CDs that Rhino put out in association with Motown (the others were on The Four Tops, The Temptations, and Marvin Gaye). If you have one of the various hits collections on The Miracles, use this one to augment that one, and further your appreciation of a great group. A songwriter as profound and prolific as Smokey Robinson was bound to have some great tracks not be released as A-sides. In addition to the title track, you'll find the red-hot "More, More, More Of Your Love" here, and it's sure to fill a dance floor. "I Need A Change" is a track that first appeared on album on the vinyl compilation, Greatest Hits From The Beginning. This was its CD debut, and more hits from that classic album have been issued on another CD collection of rare tracks, "Along Came Love." "From Head To Toe" was a major-league track that got minor-league treatment due to the fact that it was on an album (Going To A Go-Go) that was overflowing with classic hits. It's one of the highlights of this CD. The collection follows the group's progress right up to the last year before Smokey started his solo career. It's interesting to see how Smokey's writing changed through these years, and also how he handled material from outside sources (compare "My World Is Empty Without You" and "Faces"). All in all, this CD is well worth the money. They just don't make records like this any more. After giving these songs a listen, you're sure to want "More, More, More..."!

5 out of 5 stars Great Hidden Gem.......2000-07-14

This is THe Kind Of Album that you want from one of your all-time favorites.while Motown is Known for putting out 99 Greatest Hits Sets it's Refreshing to get your hands on something of this Magnitude. The Miracles were a Tight Band Vocally with Great songs&Music. But Having a Genius Such as Smokey Robinson as your Leader Overshadowed them.still together this is Winning Material for any fan of The Miracles.these are Essential Motown Releases not the 99 Greatest Hit Compilations that they Stock Pile.

5 out of 5 stars Many great tracks not found elsewhere........1999-07-22

This is an album put out in 1993 for Miracles fans, not general pop fans, and is worth the money just for the fantastic I need a change, not otherwise available on CD. First two tracks are out on CD on Hi We're The Miracles (reissue of their first ever album) but it's hard to find. Tracks 7-11 are likewise impossible to find on CD, and Swept and Don't think are beautiful ballads, nearly the equal of hits like Ooo baby baby. I can't find track 13, a decent Tears of a clown period piece, anywhere else, and the remaining tracks are from 1969-1970 albums that are no longer available. Great value.
