Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Charming.......2006-05-01

Lynsey is a very talented singer/songwriter. In fairness, Olivia is not a songwriter, and wouldn't know the first thing about it. She is a great talent of course, and became an international success.

Lynsey became known to me through the number one hit single in Australia, Sugar me/Storm in a teacup, back in 1972, which I bought and treasured. I later found out about her other performances for British TV serial themes. Her style of singing is captivating and personally I wonder about women who sing that way; still it is alluring. She ought to have steered clear of disco I feel, some of which may be found on this CD. I believe that was a flop, and she seemed to have lost her way after that.

I know she is still being hired for theme songs, and not in disco of course, but it is a quiet generic affair. Being in another country I haven't kept up with what she's doing now.

4 out of 5 stars 70's Brit-Pop at its Best!.......1999-04-09

Featuring Lynsey de Paul and some of her "Greatest Hits". This Cd has a nice 70's touch to it. Lynsey's melodies and voice form a perfect romantic mood, catchy tunes and lovely lyrics. You have to appreciate soft pop at its finest. She stood in the shadow of Olivia Newton-John, but has far more song-writing qualities than the Aussie.

5 out of 5 stars Re-recordings of some of Lynsey's best tunes plus new songs.......1999-03-17

Lynsey may well be remembered for her little girl lost vocals but these re-recordings of some of her best known and biggest hits from her early days plus 4 previously unreleased tracks reveal a much more powerful vocal style. Nevertheless, a must for all Lynsey fans and a nice introduction to those who have yet to get to know her.
