Customer Reviews:
Most welcome reissue/compilation series..........2005-08-02
R&B, Blues, Doo-wop, Early RocknRoll. This CD has got it all. Not a single dud in the batch. Superior track listing & sequencing. Brilliant mastering job, possibly the best these songs will ever sound. Sure, the price is a little steep, but it is entirely worth it. The 78-page booklet and tasteful packaging put this thing over the top. If you're looking to start a collection of 50's R&B, this is possibly the best place to start. These songs were covered endlessly in the rocknroll era and later, but only here will you get the definitive (most soulful) versions. I have every intention of collecting the rest of the series.
