Tracie's Return To music.......2005-10-08
I remember this album when I was 12. I love this CD. It's hot. The album is filled with jeep-styled jams and heartfelt ballads. This is her coming-of-age album. This album showcases her musical skills in a truly contemporary setting. This album should have been promoted more. Remember, this was 1999.
GREAT CD BUT BAD PROMOTION.......2005-05-14
Tracie Spencer was one of the most favorite female R&B artist of the early ninties. I never cared for her previous albums but I love this album. Too bad the album got little promotion just like Tevin Campbell and Shanice's albums that were released that same year. Tracie hooked up with producers "Soulshock & Karlin" which I think she was dating one of them at the time. It's rare that you find a album where you could listen to every song. This album is very nice and I would recommend buying it.
carla tosh is right traci is confused.......2005-02-24
Pros: traci has a nice voice
Cons: doesn't know what direction to go with the cd
this album is uneven as a matter of fact all of her
albums are uneven.
sometimes this album sounds urbane, half the other time
it sounds like adult contemperary/R&B,or just plain
strait up adult contemperary(wich i loathe *ugh*). but
honestly this album doesn't know what it wants to
be,or whom it wants to be marketed too.and neither does
traci either.though being politicaly correct she might
say every one.you can tell that the album is uneven just from the first 2 singles from the album, their completely different from the other, ones adult contemperary, the first is more of a hip-hop/R&B track.you can tell she only went the urban route because thats whats dominating now.a diverse album can be good if done right but this wasn't.it just had the disengenious token urban songs (wich it seems to exploit for marketing reasons) on there just so they can market it to young black adults. i don't know if her indecisiveness
comes from her black/white background(as far as her exsposure to different types of music is concern, given her bi-racial background) or just horrible
musical direction on her part,or the record label(probably the latter).though more then likely
its the fomer not the latter.ok so she's bi-racial
but why she got to let it be known in her music?.she
needs to find out who she wan't to be and stop
kissing people ass.because she really does seems dissengenious when she make urban songs lol
Excellent comeback! .......2004-09-19
I loved Tracie Spencer's '99 album. She just dominates on every song here. I went, is this the same girl from Iowa that amazed us in 1990-1991 with multiple hits with This House, Love Me and others from her second album? And Soulshock and Karlin gave her a good sound for this album. I still love It's all About You. This album was very timely to come out right after Soulshock and Karlin's big hit with Whitney Houston, Kelly Price and Faith Evans, Heartbreak Hotel. That techno-driven R&B sound that they're known for continues on this album too. Spencer still sounds good vocally for this one. I like the fact that she's still in music, even singing on a song on rapper 50 Cent's successful 2003 album. This album proves that you can take time off after having teen star fame and still return on top form later in your 20s. Excellent comeback for her!
Pretty Good.......2004-05-01
The album is pretty good though I wish she would have added more ballads with which to showcase her beautiful voice. Standout tracks include: "It's All About You (Not About Me)", "Still In My Heart", "No Matter" and "Unbelievable". Worth the addition to anyone's musical collection.
