5 out of 5 stars A Terrific Sound of Soul!.......2007-05-11

I bought this compact disc because I loved the song, High, not that it has anything to do with getting high. Listening to this compact disc, I find it hard to even think of giving it away. It has a great sound of soul, motivational, and spiritual singing. This music brings you up in the day just as it did when I first heard High. This compact disc does not disappoint but you want more and I don't know why we don't hear much about them. Maybe it's because I listen to CDs instead of the radio. Too many commercials on FM. I'm glad that they kept their style and keep making music. I thought they were gone.

5 out of 5 stars Another Pot Of Briliant Gold.......2007-03-21

Lighthouse Family's second cd 'Postcards From Heaven' could have been called Ocean Drive Part Two or bonus tracks from the Ocean Drive album and it still would be priceless.

I say this because the formula, style and instrumentation remains the same yet is still refreshing and you can never grow tired of this two man band.

For many months, the song 'High', the chart topping single from this cd would make me cry. Tunde's voice is very breezy and earthy, the lyrics are inspiring and hold so much promise and Paul's insrumentation in the background lends it's own magnetism.

'Raincloud' is a bit of a stretch for them, more dance Euro-pop than easy listening but it is an awesome song and I dont know why and I'm not sure I recall seeing the video but the song reminds me of a train speeding past.

'Question Of Faith' is one of my favourite Lighthouse Family songs of all time. Enough said.

'Once In a Blue Moon', 'Let It All Change' and the haunting 'Lost In Space' are slower but very good.

The title track is very good but strangely for me not as strong as the others.

Another winner from one of the coolest duos ever.

5 out of 5 stars High.......2005-08-04

What can I say. Probably one of my favourite albums of all time, along with U2's "The Joshua Tree" and Lene Marlin's "Playing My Game". This album is quality, and as close to perfection as any compilation has, and perhaps will, ever come to.

Smooth vocals, incredible lyrics, and heart-stopping melodies are what this album provides. 'High' and 'Postcard From Heaven' are my personal favourites, although every song is strong here.

Probably one of the most replayable albums I've ever come across, "Postcards From Heaven" is a masterful collection of vocal music. A must have for any fan of music itself.

5 out of 5 stars Aural Postcard From Heaven is Timeless Soul.......2005-06-22

As a huge Spinners fan with an appreciation and deep respect for Seals and Crofts, my jaw dropped when I heard Postcards From Heaven, a near-flawless hybrid of them both, with a dash of Beatles and Blackbyrds sprinkled in for good measure. Every song on this mesmerizing album bears repeated plays. But don't think that this record is merely an exercise in retroactivity; the Lighthouse Family sound is indeed contemporaneous to Seal and especially the Christians (why does it seem there is no reference to that immensely talented combo anywhere on Amazon?) not to mention Jai and the late Ephraim Lewis. One day the Nineties will be rightfully looked upon as a golden era for British soul, and the Lighthouse Family will be as worthy a representative of that revival as any. NOTE: some European pressings of Postcards From Heaven, such as the one I found, do NOT include "Lifted", one of three sizable hits (the others being "Raincloud" and "High").
