She's back. After more drama than even this unshy Big Bad Mama might have wanted, it seems as if Foxy Brown has pulled back from the abyss. Of course, on her first album in three years (since the disappointing Chyna Doll), Foxy's rhyme skills haven't gotten any better or worse--she still exhibits the focused monotone that first got her noticed in 1995 on LL Cool J's "I Shot Ya." Broken Silence can't be called a revelation, but it does showcase a less ill, more introspective Na Na. Gratuitous battle rhymes are still very much in effect, but the effort she's made to explore her recent painful experiences has resulted in some pretty compelling material. Foxy explains her position, pointedly making thinly veiled references to the many industry beefs and relationship problems that have made her name prime fodder for the rumor mills. Many of the best tunes found here, including the ragga raw "Oh Yeah," are heavy on the reggae vibe, but, quiet as it's been kept, Foxy's been exploring her dancehall roots for a while now. Broken Silence may not be the best we'll ever hear from Ms. Brown, but you can definitely call it a comeback. --Rebecca Levine

5 out of 5 stars luv it so much gotta get it again.......2007-02-21

I love this album so much, I wore it out in 2001 and up until it was stolen. This will be my second time purchasing it.

5 out of 5 stars The ILLEST!!! Fox we need you.......2006-10-06

I just pulled this out looking for something different to listen too,MAN I had forgot how DOPE this lp is. This is by far the best female rap album I've ever had the pleasure of owning. And one of very few albums I can listen to from start to finish. My personal favorite was "The Letter" talk about letting your fans in on what you have gone through. It doesnt get an more personal than this track. I can't even list off the dopest track because they are all hot. There is not a bad song on her. I cant wait until is graces us with a new one.

5 out of 5 stars Foxy Brown, The Illest Female in Tha Rap Game.......2006-09-25

Also tha sexiest. 4real. This album was the best out of all her albums. This is what the definition of real rap is. Tha only thing that could be changed is how she talks about Prada, Christian Diore, n other material brand names. N she talk about her na-na, but I got no problem wit dat. Id put my face in it anyday. Now just cuz I like her dnt mean Im not feelin Lil' Kim or Remy Ma. Lil' Kim CD The Naked Truth was real good, n Remy Ma CD Theres Somethin about Reamy Based on A True story was good too. But Foxy Brown is my favorite hands down. I can't wait till she drop Black Roses.

5 out of 5 stars Foxy's best album.......2006-09-05

I'll admit I was never a fan of Foxy but I have to give her credit where credit is due. This is her best work yet. Standout tracks: FALLEN, OH YEAH, 730, RUN YO S--T, HOOD SCRIPTURES, SO HOT, RUN DEM, TABLES WILL TURN, BROKEN SILENCE, MY LETTER, SADDEST DAY etc. Filler: I dont care and Gangsta Boogie. Minus these flawed tracks this is her best album. You can tell there was some effort was put into this album even though she sometimes takes an emotional route on certain tracks. All in all a this is a truly underrated album!

5 out of 5 stars Foxy's best yet!.......2006-09-04

What I like most about this album is Brown's return of her Trini roots on several of the dancehall inspired tracks. "Oh Yeah", "Saddest day", and "Tables wil turn" had nice dancehall chorus that made the songs pop.

Every song on this cd is worth listening too which is really rare with most cd's these days. This is Foxy's first album that can be compared to Lil Kim's Hardcore in terms of content and arrangement.

This is the BK princess I've been waiting to hear and i'm really feelin "come fly with me" featuring sizzla. i hope she continues to kick it up a notch on this next cd.
