"you're the best around" changed the face of civilization as we know it, if it wasn't for that All Valley Tournament montage i probably wouldn't have the will to live, and that says something, because i'm a successful business man now that gets a fair share of the ladies, i'd hate to toot my own horn, but it really is amazing. do yourself a favor and get the entire Joe Espo. catalog before you consider this failure of a compilation.

the reason this gets a 1 star is due to the fact that they failed to leave only the best song to come out in 1984, that being Joe Espositos "You're the Best Around" most notably seen in the first film of Karate Kid (during the breath taking all valley karate tournament montage) now that's what I CALL MUSIC! I was just discussing with Lupus Fury the stupidity of the people that put this album out, how could they skip over this song??? they should rename this album "Now that's what I call a gigantic rip-off because we failed to include Joe Esposito"
that sounds much better.

FILLED WITH CLASSICS.......2003-09-05

This is definitely one of the better Now Music compilations, with plenty of amazing songs like U2's Pride, Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Two Tribes, Giorgio Moroder's Together In Electric Dreams, Tina Turner's What?s Love Got To Do With It, Billy Ocean's Caribbean Queen, Bananarama's Robert de Niro's Waiting and UB40's Cherry O Baby. As usual, all the relevant styles are well represented, for example Rock (Queen), Synthpop (Eurythmics, Depeche Mode), Pop (Culture Club, Tracey Ullman), Dance (Kool And The Gang, Bronski Beat). The following are considered classics: Nelson Mandela by The Special A.K.A., White Lines by Grandmaster Flash, Sex Crime (1984) by Eurythmics and Tina Turner's What's Love Got To Do With It?. My favorites also include Billy Idol's moody Rebel Yell and Move Over Darling by Tracey Ullman. Of course these UK compilations aren?t exhaustive so there?s always going to be certain important omissions from any given year, but overall this 1984 collection does an excellent job of bringing some of the best tracks together to enable the listener to wallow in nostalgia for a more innocent age.
