Strauss done in a special way!.......1999-04-15

For fans of the music of J. Strauss, this album is a wonderful addition to your collection. In this album James Last peforms 9 special selections, 4 waltzes, polkas, can-can music and a march! Originally titled "Roses from the South", the title track is wonderful, a beautiful waltz. The "Emperor Waltz" and the other 2 waltzes are out of this world! The other selections provide a nice mixture of different tempos and moods. But there is one common element in all selections, those strings are simply out of this world, full and robust, for this writer, the best in comtemporary easy listening. Hansi mixes in the brass section on many tracks, and of course, there is Benny Bendorf with his bass guitar. All in all, this is a album you will enjoy over and over again. I put this recording in my top 10 James Last recordings, a must for the serious Hansi fan, at least one of the waltzes is performed by the orchestra on their yearly tours, even to the present time. This is very (re)fine(d) Hansi!!!
