Wow! When it comes to doing drag, there's really a spectrum of talent out there---the funny, the entertaining, the sometimes amazing, and of course the embarrassingly pathetic. What propels Yolanda and her four member band light-years ahead is pure, synchronistic talent. Built on Yolanda's strong song writing ability which is both heartfelt and politically edgy, keyboardist Adam Wood adds his collaborative help with arrangements to deliver a power house of funkadelic lounge tunes---Not to mention that astounding baritone voice that really drives them home! As if that were not enough, background vocalist Martha Seylor, a.k.a. Rainbow, weaves her sweet, song bird harmonies into the mix. Fretless bassist, Jon Akland and drummer Eric Rohrbach undeniably lay down an awesome framework that pulls it all together. What are the disappointments, you ask? I can't think of any. Whether crooning a country-tinged love song or confronting our issues of gender identity, suicide, AIDS or the fanatical right-wingers, Yolanda is a love force to be reckoned with. She/he remains unknown in the mainstream, but I suspect the time is fast approaching when the world will puts its HONEY were its mouth is and start singing along. After all, it is Yolandaworld.

Yolanda is a wonderfully unique talent. All of these original songs are well crafted, thought provoking and beautiful. This cd was recently #1 on the Outvoice album charts. "Angels" is one of the best songs that I have EVER heard was recently a #1 single. Buy this cd and experience Yolanda's World. You will laugh, cry, dance and experience a wonderful musical journey. The beauty of Yolanda's music is only exceeded by the kindness of his heart. One day it really will be Yolanda's World!
