Rare Jem - This from a rock enthusiast!.......2004-01-24

If you enjoy classic rock, you already appreciate the finer songs from the Stones, Beatles, Skynyrd, Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Floyd, Elton, Doobies, CCR, Guess Who, Moody Blues, and the Who, among others - so why consider an album in the bizarre realm of Enya and Yanni?
Well, I'll tell you ... In this album, Leroy Quintana and Paul Speer have laid down atmospheric tracks (much deeper than Musac or elevator music). These tunes are so subtle, so polished, so enjoyable, that it will blow your mind. The compositions are simply superb and the recording itself is as clean as anything you're likely to find. Alan Parsons, George Martin, and Phil Spector have nothing on those that produced "SHADES of SHADOW."
So, get this CD (even if you can't find it new), lower the lights, lie back in your most comfortable chair with you best headset, and enjoy the ride. You'll be glad you did.

Musical, Nuanced Classic (with a groove).......2003-02-14
Pure instrumental heaven. Good recording. Synths dominate, with guitar, bass, sax, and percussion. A typical track has the synths speading beautifully over the musical space, an interesting, dynamic bass line moving throughout, tasteful percussive highlights, and Spanish guitar on the melody line, all combining for an airy, ambient, peaceful feel. I enjoy everything from jazz to heavy metal, and this is one of my ten favorite albums of all time. It's one of the few albums I enjoy listening to anytime in any setting. Crafted carefully and performed artfully: a truly *musical* work. It's a classic.
"Waiting for the "Next Cut".......2001-12-26
Leroy Qunitanna; Has been out of the studio "More" than in it. This is a shame!! The talent this CD shows is of a "Budding Artist;" Who includes his Heart And Soul into his sound. "Mellow" to say the least. Rated right up there with Enigma's; "Cross of Changes" Mr. Quintanna's Talent has only been tipped. His feel for his music moves the soul and the mind to various places with it's relaxing melodys. Smooth as silk, well written and outstanding!!
It has been rumored that "Yet another" Mega CD is to be released soon. Last I heard, he was reteaming up with; Paul Speer as the two had worked together on "Shades of Shadows".....Mira Mar Productions; Is not totally in Grasp with what the public wants when it comes to the ovious "Talent" of both these Artists." Come on Boys Where's the second release?" I have been listening to Shades of Shadows since 1995 and have yet to grow tired of this outstanding Artistical Work. Mr. Qunitanna hails from my same home town. Modesto California, USA An stands right up there with another "giant from here;"... "George Lucas". Although I have never met Mr. Quintanna or Mr. Lucas. They are two "Greats" in the industrie....Come on "Mira Mar Productions;" "Where's the Second Cut from "Leroy Quintanna and Paul Speer".....shurley; Your not going to let these two slip out of your hands "again".
"Where is the NEXT cut? It's been now too long of a wait!! Already
Mad @ myself.......2001-11-18

This is music to relax to........1999-04-06
I absolutely love this CD. It is very soothing and easy to listen to. If you don't like New Age or Jazz, I encourage you to try this album. It would be popular music if it had vocals. Incredible, that's all I can say.
