Ah Therese!.......2002-11-10

I have listened to the ("In Dulci Jublio") album in it's entirety... I wish I could say that I was perfectly delighted with what I heard.

Admittedly, my expectations go back to a magnificent album that Therese (so artfully) performed called "The Queen's Minstrels" (within the late 1980's). "The Queen's Minstrels" was absolutely timeless. In point of fact, it was so timeless, that I found myself reflecting back to a primordial stage of my inner self after countless listening... A unique experience within itself. This is certainly a standard of (my personal) expectation that would be hard to compare to because of the individualised nature of this unique album/CD.

Personally speaking, I haven't heard the same sound in subsequent recordings. I would have to credit this with an album/CD ("The Queen's Minstrels") that I fell in love with. With those expectations, how could anything else compare?

I would very much like to hear that same magic again, but I am sure with changes in style (with no impact on Therese's enormous talent), this might not occur.

This is only an opinion based on my perception and not Therese's great talent.

Brings meaning to the word Peace.......2002-11-05

This music reminds us why Christmas is also a time for reflection and peace. Every arrangement comes from her heart and soul but with Schroeder-Sheker's profound musicianship beneath.

Give this as a gift to someone who needs time for peace and beauty in his or her life . . .

Theresa Schroeder-Sheker truly sounds angelic in this beautiful CD. It evokes such a sense of peace and tranquility. This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas CD's -- which, I think, would be just as soothing & comforting any time of year. And I would echo the 2 previous reviews. Heavenly! Close your eyes when you listen to this and you'll think you're being serenaded by an angel! (\ö/)

A recording which truly defines the holiday season........1999-05-20

If I had to throw away all of my holiday music cd's but one (and I have dozens), this would be the hands-down winner. No recording more beautifully captures the holdiay season for me, the austerity of the manger contrasted with the opulence of the feast we celebrate to honor Christ's birth. This is music for a sparkling winter night, simple, clear, elegant and perfect. Therese Schroeder-Sheker plays the harp beautifully, and sings like an angel, her voice full of sweetness, sadness, and ultimately serenity. Her sincere belief in her material shines out of every performance. Take Bing Crosby out of the player this year, and put this cd in instead, while you're sipping egg nog and wrapping gifts for your loved ones... you will never be able to imagine Christmas without it once you've experienced it. Don't forget to send a copy to someone special.

This is really a superb piece, she really sings like an angel and the music is so relaxing.
