Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Ambient/Electronic Music Worth Hearing.......2000-01-26

Whether you actually like electronic music or not, I definately think you should check out this CD. These guys know how to blend together a number of sonic elements, and the influence of Gabriel, Reich, and Eno really shows through on this debut.

It is an intoxicating blend of electronic, ambient, and progressive rock music, and yet this music defies classification even in these genre. A cross between chill-out soundscapes and up-tempo rock, the music takes the listener into its confidence and allows the listener to travel with it for the course of an hour.

It is definately the best $ I have spent on minor label music in a number of years.

Recommended tracks: "Look," "Socs," "Umbrage," "Dead," "Alive," "Secret," and "Goblin."

4 out of 5 stars wonderful instrumental music.......1999-04-05

I never thought that something this good could come out of Lansing, IL. A friend of mine who owns a computer store let me borrow this CD yesterday; I popped it in the CD player today, and was very surprised. The recording quality is excellent (some of the best I've heard from the new wave of home computer recordings, and much better than your average 4-track demo). The songs are intelligent; mostly keyboard work, but the drum and trombone is damn fine and separates the album from the average synth crap. 3fm seem to have found their own sound amongst the electronic dabbling--it's not pop, it's not dance, it's not really new wave either--and that makes it a very rewarding listen. The CD ends on a note that makes me want to press play again and again...I'd recommend it to anybody who's interested in the independent music scene and isn't bored by music that doesn't have vocals. Thanks to Bach, indeed.
