The Best Rondo Album?.......2002-05-29

I have been a fan of Rondo Veneziano for nearly 20 years. I thought that I had heard most if not all that RV had to offer, but this album just blew me away. Some of the recordings are easily the best versions of Rondo's timeless classics I have ever heard, in particular Serenissima (? - No 5 on the album anyway) is a masterpiece, with such crisp violin sounds you feel like you are sitting right beside Maestro Reverbi himself! If this CD was more readily available, I would buy dozens of copies and give it to all my friends birthday after birthday - I have yet to meet anyone who did not immediately love RV as soon as they heard them. RV have opened new doors on music for me, and this CD really sums them all up.

Vivaldi 2000.......2001-12-06

I have listened to Rondo Veneziano since the early 80's when they made their debut in Italy and some national TV programs (even a popular newsmagazine) used their music. The formula is simple, Italian baroque music modelled on Vivaldi with the addition of some modern instruments. Baroque music usually has an inherent rythm (listen to Bach and you'll start tapping instinctively the right beat) that lends itself well to modern beats. In the end the combination produces some excellent music. I still think the original Rondo Veneziano (name of their first hit) is their best and the one that truly captures the essence of Venetian music. Unfortunately, in America, Bocelli has stifled the emergence of Rondo which is far more deserving of the public's praise and is difficult to find. Thanks to Amazon for having recognized Rondo's quality and making it available.

I also heard them at Epcot...It was truely overwelming, this coming from someone who has never bought a cd! I paint by it and after a year I am ready to expand with another album. Wish you all had recommended a next "must have".

Another Rondo Classic.......2000-02-15

This compilation CD is a delightful assortment of Rondo's best material. Like many I became an avid fan of this marvelous group at Epcot in Disney. Their music is captivating and enriching to the soul. This CD, though a bit pricey, is an outstanding introduction to this fine musical group.
