Molly Flannery and her Quintet transport my mind/spirit to a wonderful place where the sun is bright, the jazz is hot, the water is cool and the towels are fluffy.

The Island Reverie track (Ms. Flannery's own composition) is particularly riveting.

This is real music, by an accomplished pianist and arranger with an original narrative gift. She takes her compositions off-road, into quiet unmapped landscapes that hint of Bill Evans and Monk but are totally her own. This is a CD you'll be glad to discover over and over again.
