Powerful magic.......2001-08-19

Imagine a cool August morning, with gentle rain coming straight down through the trees. Soft green light surrounds you as you greet the day with a cup of coffee. Aerial Acoustics is the music you hear.

Now envision a small club, late night, guitars stinging through the lights, powerful, insistent. Aerial Acoustics once again.

I've "played at" guitar off and on since grade school, classical and popular, and have been fortunate to hear and see the work of great guitarists over the years - Aerial Acoustics among them. Very clean fingerwork, brilliant sound, seemingly effortless playing, four hands working as one instrument. The mix of steel string and classical guitar rings like chimes. Dense tapestries leavened with perfectly rarefied notes.

Even better, every song on "Tandem Flight" is original except for "Take Five". Not only do they play beautifully, they write well, too - the compositions on this, their first album, are very good. (Their recently released sophomore CD, "Myriad", is even better.)

Buy this album, drop it in your player, and crank it. How many acoustic guitar acts can you say that about?

The world is full of unknown, brilliant guitarists. Aerial Acoustics should not be unknown long.

In the past ten years I have been swept away by many Artists, Michael Hedges, Craig Chaquico, Peter White ,and many more. Thanks to Dennis and Dorothy, I am still enjoying the ride. Keep up the Great work and hurry with a new CD!!

Clean, clear, exhilerating. If you enjoy purity in music, without a whole bunch of electronic trickery, Aerial Acoustics will delight you, it's refined and original. We listen to it all the time. I have only one question....when will you guys pleasure us with more CDs?

Having followed Aerial Acoustics to three different cities, it's a certain pleasure to be able to listen to them where ever I take their CD titled "Tandem Flight." The combination of a strictly trained classical (Dorothy Wagner) performer meshed with the boldness of a master of rock (Dennis Smith), Aerial Acoustics creates an impressive display of talent.

Many thanks go out to both Dennis and Dorothy for all the work that they have done with PlanetConnect and the wonderful performances that they put on.

I have listened to this Aerial Acoustics' Tandem Flight CD while studying, entertaining, and just sitting around relaxing. It is one CD that can be truly considered timeless. As a student, it isn't easy finding music that appeals to everyone, but I have found that this one does. I eagerly await a new release.
