Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Amrit Sond.......2001-11-07

Musicians of Amrit Sond's ability are as rare as the inspiration that this wonderful guitarist is able to find to produce such extraordinary music.
I have been lucky enough to see him play, and whilst the CD is simply a "must have", you are left with the question "How is he able to produce such dazzling sounds ?" The answer is he is able to use the guitar like no one I have previously seen play; moving about this instrument with a dexterity and artistry that defies description and probably wouldn't do it justice even if you could find the words.
The CD leaves you asking "Where can I see this man play ?"
Seeing him play leaves you asking "Where can I see this man play again ?"

5 out of 5 stars An eye opening experience.......2001-10-04

I was introduced to Amrit's music when I saw him perform at a folk festival in England in June 2001. The way he was described in the flyer convinced me to stick around and watch the set, and I wasn't disappointed. Amrit is one of those performers who sounds as flawless live as he does on disk, and his approach to guitar playing is extremely creative. I have pretty conventional tastes, and have always chosen music that follows the practices of rhythmic consistency and harmonic concordance - that is until now. Although largely melodic in nature "Circular Motion" occasionally illustrates Amrit's experimental side, and for the first time in my life that kind of approach makes sense! Regardless of your level of experience, from first time buyer to guitar aficionado, I thoroughly recommend "Circular Motion".
