Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Know what you are looking for.......2005-11-19

Having just read the review by the computer professional I just wanted to comment the songs on this CD, including Blue Dancer, are all original compositions of Don Harriss. Clearly, this Blue Dancer heard by the professional here is a completely different song. It's not uncommon at all for different songs to have same title. A quick example, Spooky Tooth, ELO, and the Doobie Brothers all had songs entitled Evil Woman and none were cover versions of the other. Shell Game is a classic example of piano synthesizer mix of the adult contemporary/new age style of the time so prominent in the late 80's to early 90's. Comparing it today with anything currently recorded is basically comparing apples to oranges. Shell Game has several very solid tracks, most notably in my opinion Arabesque and Bridge Across the Night. This is atmopsheric music very timely for 1990 which has a timeless feel still relevant today. I am not sure what the professional was looking for. If that's an electronica, hip hop, or whatever style it is, then no someone of that taste probably wouldn't like Shell Game and I understand the professional's disappointment. But if someone's taste runs more to actual musical structure, emotional depth, and songs that do not all sound the same, then Shell Game may be a worthwhile option. I would just advise the professional, like I would anyone, to make sure you know what you are looking for, make sure what you are buying, and then ask yourself if you should really trash what you purchased when you yourself made the mistake in buying the wrong product.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed.......2005-07-26

I bought this CD because of the first track, "Blue Dancer" which I heard on GoRadio.

THIS IS NOT THE SAME SONG! It definitely _not_ the same arrangement as GoRadio is webcasting, and as far as I can tell it isn't even the same melody!

The rest of the CD is typical elevator-music new age.

5 out of 5 stars Welcome to New Age!!!.......2003-03-03

Now here's a guy who puts those synthesizers to work! 'Blue Dancer,' 'Shell Game,' 'Bridge Across the Night,'--every tune, with an extraordinary beat--extraordinary in the sense that all it can do is help you to relax--no agitation whatsoever. The melodies are so beautiful! An incredible combination!! As many times as I have heard this CD, 'Blue Dancer,' helped me to relax my being, and 'Bridge Across the Night' helped me to reawaken to the world!!
