Sounds more techno than spiritual.......2005-04-12

I listened to the samples at B&N before I got this cd, but it sounds much different than I expected. It's like a combo of native american sounds with techno. It's not bad, but I plan to resell.

Another out of this world CD. I run in the early morning with this CD, before the sun.
Very freeing.
Nice beat.
Brings back thoughts of lives before.
If you are looking for an astral/ native american CD. One to let go in, to breath into and let go.

Music that speaks to OUR spirit.......2003-03-14

This outstanding work refreshingly moved me. I believe that understanding the concept of oneness, that we are all connected, all living things, in a very real sense, enables you to connect with what is being given here. The harmonic beauty touches you on this level. Whatever label society has given you for your "nationality", once you get beyond the symbol of what the world says you are - to WHO YOU ARE - the beauty takes on a deeper meaning. This is a must listen to piece, way beyond anything I have yet heard. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Enjoy.

The CD is one thing, live is something else!.......2003-01-25

I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, and towards the end of every Summer, we host a Native American festival called "Indian Summer". Douglas Spotted Eagle often plays at this festival, along with many other native groups. In 1999, we attended and were given the privelege of seeing many of these songs performed live on stage. Believe me, you talk about a spiritual experience! After the show, we bought the Voices CD, and Mr. Spotted Eagle autographed it for us, so now we have a very special memento of the occasion. If you enjoy and understand Native American culture, this CD is essentially a required - maybe even sacred - item.

Hope for American Music?.......2002-11-18

I have eclectic taste in music- classical, reggae, folk, blues, blue grass, "oldies". I haven't figured out why anyone would buy a CD mass produced from Hollywood, et al for the last 15+ years. They don't deserve payment for the slop that's shamelessly marketeted like toilet paper. This guy is the real thing- talented, gracious in crediting others for their work- and able to cross cultures. Do yourself a favor and give this CD a chance-you will not tire of it. As others have already said, this music will permeate your soul- get ready for a unique "voice".
