Unusual, original, stunning.......2007-01-14

Every once in a while a very unusual and original collection of music comes along. I believe that's what you have here. I mean, nearly every track on this CD is stunning. It has the international feel of something you might find in the Putamayo series. However, Indigo Spirit is much clearer in vision and style. It is also far more daring as Indigo is not an compilation of similar music but the opposite, so-called "contrary" music, in this case, delta blues and classical. It integrates these very different root styles without denying or transcending either to produce something truly authenticate. Good for them.

Fans of Trip Hop listen up!.......2006-07-07

If you enjoy Hooverphonic's 2 Wicky or Moby's mellower stuff this cd is for you. There is even a lifted Portishead beat among the songs. Truth be told, this seems greatly influenced by Portishead's "Dummy." (Minus Beth Gibbons stunning vocals.)

The beats are there with layers of strings, a solo cello or viola and a bit of twangy blues guitar or delayed harmonica from time to time.

Straddles the line between ambient and cinemagraphic.

One of the reviews suggests that this music is somewhat specific to people of color. Although I am not a person of color, I love this music. It touches me deeply. This music is not about the 'Indigo' spirit is about the human spirit. Yes, one of the songs is about slavery - 'to be a slave' and what it means to the spirit but even so, I personally think that we all as people can (and should) imagine and feel what slavery may do to the human spirit. To be in chains, to be denied love, family, human dignity. The pain in the music is almost palpable. This is one of my favorite CDs

Sacred Spirit confirmed this CD is part of the Sacred spirit collection with their album Bluesy Chill Out and Jazzy Chill Out, where they include in the list the albums Sacred Spirit 1, Sacred Spirit 2, Bluesy, Jazzy, Classical Spirit, Morocan Spirit and Spirit of Silence. This album is wonderful. More in the felling of the Indigo Spirit album can be found in Bluesy and Jazzy albums. I love Sacred Spirit
