Customer Reviews:
Flows to the Heart.......2002-11-17
I first heard this recording in the early 90's. A station in So. California, the Wave, brought it to my attention. I am in the process of recovering some of my lost recordings and this is one of them. I used to play "Ever Returning" into the ground. I love that song most. It is especially a great healing song that revitalizes you.
Though there are a few of the songs I skip over, this CD is priceless in terms of a few of the gems on it. It is uniquely creative, flowing and beautifully emotional piano playing at its best.

Flowing - a perfect title!.......2000-08-24
Beautifully gentle, unassuming, and soothing music. 'Ever Returning' is my favorite - the reason I acquired the album in the first place. "Yellow Flowers" is also interesting - its tiptoeing is reminiscent of classical Baroque music. Track 4 doesn't quite seem festive to me as the track's title would suggest - I sense longing and turmoil here... 'Dancing Atoms' is very lighthearted, fittingly. There's hesitant contemplation in Track 6 (I wonder what motion picture inspired this piece). Track 7 - 'Bright Light'- is flirtatious (and a bit flat). Track 8 is the most unusual, uneven, intriguing piece in the album, and, arguably, the most innovative. 'Rotation' is a bit too 'busy' for my taste in the context of this particular album, so to adjust it to my satisfaction, I picture flurries of dragonflies and butterlies, dancing to this track over a summer field, and it works :) The last two tracks are sweeping but a bit uninspired and short-winded.
Overall, "Flowing" should please everyone with affection for instrumental music.
One of the most emotional piano recordings I've ever heard........1999-02-10
If you like piano music, you will like Bernward Koch. "Weeping Willow" sill brings tears to my eyes even after years of listening.
