Inspiration and talent in excess!.......2005-09-25

Two remarkable talents of the Nineties landed in such fertile land. The guitar was the great instrument along this decade. From Pat Metheny to Lee ritenour, from Petre White to Chcuk Loeb, from Craig Chaquico to Larry Carlton, from Othmar Liebert tio Chris Spheeris.

This gifted musician gives us one of his most inspired works. Aria is a moving ballad inspired in Arabian airs. Margarita finds him in a very touching theme with far echoes of Flamenco. Embrace is the best track; his incandescent charm plenty of suggestive moods, is a true pleasure for higher spirits. Gypsy airs involve Culture. Bombay is a smooth piece in high inspiration. One is a very good theme filled with marked Indian influence. One could affirm it was written for Ravi Shankar.
A gratifying album that will overpass your expectations.

The Greek rhythms felt right and the instruments were well played but no tracks compel another listen. "One" came closest.

Hi All...
Researching for Arabian Music with no words on it to ride my Arabian to for performances, I came across this delightful CD.
Really expressionistic & moving in several different tempos makes this music perfect to ride a horse to!
I would highly recommend this CD for anyone who enjoys music without words!

Impulse buy is a keeper.......2000-02-27

I usually always regret impulse purchases. Not this one. I had never heard Chris Spheeris until I stumbled onto a free Friday afternoon concert he gave in Sedona in 1998. I bought a couple of albums on the spot, and they remain just about the favorites of my collection. Chris can play (and create) music from all around the world and make it exciting or beautiful or both, as needed. I can't imagine anyone who likes New Age or international music and a beat not loving this one.
