Great Queen collection, but not Karaoke CDs.......2004-11-02
Champions of the World.......2003-05-01
This album opens with the very bohemian "Bohemian Rhapsody", arguably the most recognised song by Queen (despite the mangling of 'We Are The Champions' by sports fanatics everywhere singing with their heart but not their ears) AND the most bloody fantastic. And the other songs? Well, 'The Show Must Go On' and 'Who Wants To Live Forever' tear at the heartstrings while upbeat rock such as 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' lifts even the blackest mood.
And while we all wish we had the voice and talent of Freddie Mercury, at least with this cd we don't have to be so painfully mediocre.
This is a STUNNING cd and you will love it with all your heart.
The only way it could be better is if there were more songs.
Legends never die, they are only reborn........2002-10-11
Queen just doesn't get the credit they deserve. There's only a handful of reviews for this CD which is surprising since Queen are up there with the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd as one of the greatest bands of all time. They basically reinvented the word "immortality".
You'd be hard pressed to find a more [costly] CD than this but its well worth it. These are the original studio backing tracks as opposed to some studio dropkick banging the keys of a cheap [money] synthesizer. This is quality music at its best and well worth its weight in gold! A truly exceptional purchase!
"Who wants to live forever?" is an appropriate title for one of the songs on this CD. Queen are the ones who will live forever and this recording is immortal despite the fact the band don't utter a single word. This is in fact a Karaoke CD and the only thing better than listening to this legendary band is (trying) to sing along to 31 of their greatest and timeless classics.
