Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars It's hilarious and that's all........2007-04-04

Though being the lowest selling album of Weird Al to date, this album has all the stuff that a Weird album should has - song parodies like Living With A Hernia, Addicted to Spuds and Toothless People; style parodies like Dog Eat Dog (which is definitely a style parody of Talking Head's Once In A Lifetime); and, most of all, the trademark polka medley. It's hilarious and creative, and what should we ask for more? Buy this album and you'll find it's worth that money.

5 out of 5 stars Weird Al at his best.......2007-03-08

This is such a wonderful and diverse selection of the music that has made Weird Al great. His Living with a Hernia, Addicted to Spuds, Dog eat Dog and my favorite is Toothless People. If you love Weird Al, this is a must.

5 out of 5 stars The first of Many.......2007-01-09

This Wierd Al CD is great, the parodies brings a nostalgic memory of times when it came out on Tape. I will look forward to buying more CDs like this. It came promptly and was in outstanding condition.

4 out of 5 stars Polka 'til you puke........2006-10-11

This was "Weird Al"'s fourth album. It didn't sell as well as his previous albums, because none of the songs received much radio airplay. The album features four parodies of then recent hits, five original songs and one polka medley of recent hit songs. The parodies of the songs "Living in America", "Addicted to Love" and "Who's Johnny" are quite good. I don't really care much for the parody of "Ruthless People", possibly because I barely remember the song being parodied. The original songs are all good, including the Talking Heads style song "Dog Eat Dog". But the best song on the album is "Christmas at Ground Zero". This song has gone on to be somewhat of a Christmas perennial, receiving airplay every Christmas season. A solid album by the Weird One.

5 out of 5 stars More of "Weird Al"'s parodies and spoofs.......2006-09-07

This 1986 release, was far better than "Weird Al" Yankovic's first three. He's still under contract with Scotti Brothers, the CBS-owned company that controls his Rock And Roll Records label. As seen in the cover photo,Al has a POLKA PARTY with his freaky friends with his accordion in front of him. LIVING WITH A HERNIA is a parody with music from James Brown's hit LIVING IN AMERICA(from the ROCKY V movie soundtrack released on the SB label in 1985). Al spoofs The Talking Heads with DOG EAT DOG("sometimes I tell myself,'This is not my beautiful stapler/chair!'"). Al sets the late Robert Palmer's music of his megahit ADDICTED TO LOVE to Al's parody ADDICTED TO SPUDS. That one is for potato fanatics. In addition to DED,other Yankovic originals include ONE OF THOSE DAYS,DON'T WEAR THOSE SHOES,the country-and-western flavored GOOD ENOUGH FOR NOW,and the Christmas-themed CHRISTMAS AT GROUND ZERO. Other parodies are HERE'S JOHNNY with music from El DeBarge's WHO'S JOHNNY? and TOOTHLESS PEOPLE with music from Mick Jagger's recording RUTHLESS PEOPLE(from the 1986 film of the same title). By the way,Al's impersonation of Jagger on TP is awesome! There's also another polka medley, which is the title track. It features covers of Phil Collins' SUSSUDIO,Lionel Richie's SAY YOU SAY ME,SLEDGEHAMMER,PARTY ALL THE TIME,FREEWAY OF LOVE,Janet Jackson's hit NASTY,Tears For Fears' SHOUT,Madonna's hit PAPA DON'T PREACH and a few others.
