When I was in high school, Cheech and Chong were THE ONES. They were the hippest, the coolest, the funniest. Their bits were memorized by every student, and you really could see people passing each other in the halls on their way to the next class, throwing lines back and forth and dissolving helplesslessly every time. All you had to do was walk up to Study Hall, knock, and someone would always say "Who is it?" in just the right inflection. You, of course, would have to respond, "Dave," and off you'd go. The teachers never seemed to get it, but that's because C&C were our generation's very own comedians, our Abbott and Costello, our Laurel and Hardy, our Martin and Lewis.
And Los Cochinos (with its great die-cut cover) was their pinnacle. The classics "Basketball Jones" (on which George Harrison played guitar, Klaus Voormann played bass, and the Blossoms--with Darlene Love, no less, sang backup--how cool was that?) and "Pedro and Man at the Drive-In" are both here in all their glory (and it's so sad that Generation X never got to go to a drive-in). We also have a classroom visit from Sargent (sic) Stadanko (with the absolutely perfect sound effect of the wooden chair being pulled out from the desk--that's MY homeroom!), a send-up of communal living with the "Strawberry Revival Festival", the "Evelyn Woodhead Speed Reading Course", and, of course, The "White World of Sports" interviewing Coach Umgwana Kickbooti. Unbelievably funny, even thirty years later. Laugh yourself silly, and, yes, we DID dress goofy in those days.

Its a cool album, man. The only semi-weak track would be "Up His Nose" everything else is hillarious. Possibly their best. "It is not, man. It is so, man. It is not, man. It is so, man. It is not, man."

I enjoy listening to the comedy routines on this CD. My favourite tracks features the great basketball player Tyrone Shoelaces, who does everything but sell popcorn during half-time. I love BASKETBALL JONES so much I am like a junkie. The song is like a song to me. ;D If you enjoy a good laugh, you will enjoy this CD.

One of best comedy records ever made, some of Cheech and Chong's best routines are here. Including "Pedro And The Man At The Drive-In", where they try to sneak a bunch of friends into the drive-in by staching them in the trunk and then not being able to get them out, this bit also features the hilarious pirate movie spoof where a crew member gets punished for buggering another shipmate. The classic "Basketball Jones" is also on this album. One of C&C's best albums(and a Grammy winner too! ). This one still makes me laugh out loud.
