grand piano!.......2004-01-03

I fell under the spell of some Latino and especially Mexican artiste's like Tania Libertad-who is a magnificent singer! So...I heard tell of Armando Manzanero anmd this recording has a good many of his "hits" all on piano. From what little info a Gringo like me, who speaks "un poquito" Spanish, can glean, Manzanero was born in 1935 in Mexico and became known for his piano artistry, singing, and mainly his compositions. For examlpe: this album features such "hits" as Impossible-best known for Perry Como's top forty entry but also recorded by such varied singers as Elvis Presley!, and Gentle Rain, a hit for Peggy Lee and Stan Getz [among others]. I don't know if this recording is actually performed by Manzanero. I rather doubt it. But, whoever does perform is a wonderful pianist. All quite beautifully played. Please, please, someone add liner notes, even in Spanish-so one can learn about the talents and their lives of the artists South of our border.
