Customer Reviews:
A CD that will brighten your day.......2001-01-19
I purchased this CD nearly two years ago, and I didn't especially like it at first, except for the beautiful photographs of Beltran on the cover and sleeves. The CD has grown on me with time, however. Two songs on the disc are absolute powerhouses. The music and Beltran's voice are so uplifting and the messages so optimistic that they can only lift one's spirits. These songs are "Y Me Volvi a Enamorar" and "Robame Un Beso". "Y Me Volvi a Enamorar" is a powerful medium-paced tune that is one of the best examples of Beltran's signature style: banda-bolero. Many folks have heard "Robame Un Beso" (it is one of Beltran's most popular songs) but it appears here with a completely new sound, full of banda flavor and moving at a quicker pace. Beltran delights the listener with special vocal features. A new version of "No Me Trates Mal" also appears on the disc. It is an interesting change for this Regional Mexican standard, but Beltran's original recording of the song, accompanied by mariachi, remains the better version. "Ya No" is a fast-moving cumbia that has been featured on many compilation albums, and is one of Beltran's best dance songs. The other songs on the disc are mostly re-makes of Mexican classics, although most of them don't spark as much interest as Beltran's newer, original material.
Ha Ha Ha.......2000-04-04
Why is she not famous? I agree with the other smart reviewer, because she STINKS! Wow does she stink! I had no choice but to throw her CD in the trash. I wasn't going to torture anyone by giving them this CD as a present! No way! I just THREW IT AWAY!
Tiene que ser sensilla!!.......1999-07-28
Quien no va a ser sensilla con la poca fama, talento, y bellesa que esta mujer tiene? No tiene voz suave, ni fuerte. Deveria dedicarse a otra cosa. Lo que sea.. menos cantar, y actuar porque seria igual de ridicula que Patty Navidad!! Este es uno de los peores Discos que he escuchado en toda mi vida!!

New Beautiful Tropical-Style Album by Graciela Beltran!.......1999-02-15
i have so much to say about this album- first of all it is genius! i don't mean to exaggerate when i said that this was a tropical-style album- it's really not completely tropical- it is definitely Banda. However, it is has many hints of tropical music in it such as reed instruments and percussion- its banda with a modern twist- i love it! my favorite songs on this album are: No Me Trates Mal, Las Isabeles, Libro Abierto, Y Me Volvi A Enamorar, El Amor No Se Vende, Ya No, and Robame Un Beso. please listen to these songs: they were absolutely fabulously done. i would like to comment on the re-recording of these songs on this album- the new way in which she did them with banda was phenomenal! the album opens up beautifully with No Me Trates Mal- a great dance song. then, it has the very upbeat bright traditional banda songs: Las Isabeles and El Amor No Se Vende. then it has a BEAUTIFUL new version of Libro Abierto- slightly tropical- this is the most beautiful way i have ever heard her sing it! then, her newest hit, Y Me Volvi A Enamorar is awesome, also slight tropical undertones in the music. Then there is a super exito, Ya No, from her previous album, Mi Corazon Es Tuyo- i have always loved this song- and this has always been one of my favorite songs by her. and of course, the great, Robame Un Beso- redone with La Banda Movida- this was tremendous! i loved it so much! this was the most "tropical" of the songs- and she even did a slightly different vocal style in it- listen for it. i cannot wait for her next album to come out!!
