Great Expectations Realized.......2001-07-21

By accident I heard this group in San Antonio, Texas but heard only the last song of their presentation. I was not drawn to their type (Mariachi) of music before. However, this group had a sound that sparkled and was full of energy. I searched [...] for a CD and found one. There have been times when I have ordered a CD and enjoyed only 1 or 2 of the selections. On this CD I enjoyed ALL of the selections. No two selections sound alike. I like lively music by Tchaikovsky, Bach, Souza, Brahms and movie sound tracks written by John Williams. This CD affords the same enjoyment but with a different flavor. The quality of the recording is sharp and clear without synthetic echos or effects. Also, when listening to the CD I get the feeling that the group really enjoys playing together and I have the opportunity to listen in on a party.

Good But Not That Good........2001-05-24

Mariachi Los Caporales is a pretty good group and I can't wait to see what they do with Manuel Vargas. But as far as this cd goes, its just another one for the collection. It is a good one to add to the stake, but if you're a first time buyer go with Sol de Mexico, Cobre, or if you know what you're listening to, the best in the world: MARIACHI VARGAS DE TECALITLAN.

Great mariachi recording!.......2001-03-14

Simply a great recording from a group of very talented musicians. I highly recommend this album as either a first buy or as an addition to an existing latin/mariachi collection.

Good mariachis can get recorded........2000-07-28

Since mariachis are often heard in the context of backing up a soloist like Vicente Fernandez or Pepe Aguilar, it's great that MKL Global has given these talented San Antonians a chance to make a statement of their own. A must for anyone planning to visit the Alamo City, where these guys and their music are greatly respected.
