Many surprises here. For one, Maria Conchita Alonzo is the talented Venezualean multi-lingual, multitalented actress, best known here in the good old usa for her beautiful, sultry, brunette looks, her film and television movie roles, and her penchant to be photographed nude or artistically, provocatively almost nude [see her album photo dressed in hose and covered up only by the shape of her guitar, and a terrific shape both she and the giutar possess]. Few know just how un-ditzy un-Latin bombshell she actually is. A talented actress she is a sensational singer too! Here she is produced with spectacular success by arrangements that can only be explained as guitar riff driven sounds evocative of Journey, Heart, or even Roxy Music. And she sings her beautiful Spanish songs with passion, deep feeling, and a spectacular voice. If you have heard her Bolero or Filin romantic albums you will be surprised how hard she ROCKS! Yet her poetic emotional quality remains in the forefront. Surprisingly cool.
