Customer Reviews:
To be completely honest with YOU.........2001-01-05
hey alexis, it might occur to you that maybe the reason i sound intelligent is because I AM. further more, i don't know what a nasty little girl of YOUR age is doing THINKING she is telling me off. graciela happens to have a lovely voice (whether YOU like it or not) and her clothes are of NO relevance to the subject. if they're something that frustrates you, why don't you go see a therapist? come on, get those aggressions out :) and anyway honey, you're one step worse than me if you went to see her LIVE in concert.. when in doubt, why don't you do a review of your OWN self before you go looking for imperfections elsewhere ..there's plenty there.
awww..looks like NO brownie points for meanie!
To be honest...........2000-12-30
To the last reviewer....LIGHTEN UP! What are you....80? In case you didn't know, people who TRY to sound intellectual, are awfully amusing (ha ha). Anyway...all I know is that Graciela Beltran is hardly an artist. Whenever she is going to perform here, radio DJs make fun of her by asking "I wonder what she's going to wear this time", for Beltran has a ghastly taste of clothes! The only time I had the pleasure of seeing her live, she was literally taken off the stage due to the crowds plea. It was at a city festival, and and she was not welcomed at all. Since then, every time I hear her name, I laugh at her inability to win over an audience.
....You don't get points for your reviews, Ok india? ha ha
What did you say?.......2000-08-03
first of all, i think the previous person who reviewed this was lying about the fact that they work for a record company, and they, if anyone, are the one NOT EDUCATED, because of their inability to eloquently communicate prose in a mature and business-like way. anyone who works for a record company would not use exclamation points or capital letters to convey anger- they would constructively criticize the album in a mature and non-offensive way. Well, that is, anyone with any business sense. I feel that me, along with other people who have reviewed Graciela's voice and albums positively, have not conveyed that a "high" voice is the only kind that's good. I think its all a matter of our taste. Now, if the previous person wants to not only lie about their identity, but also get angry about it, well then i find it strictly his/her problem. As for Graciela, i do not like her banda repertoire in music- i realize its very ethnic and sticks to mexican tradition- and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But at the same time, it is undeniable and indisputable that it is a very ugly, harsh, and deafening sound. There is just nothing pleasurable about it. However- her beautiful, perky high voice is the rare gem set on all the otherwise ruined tracks. Please note, i will VERY educatedly say, that a high voice IS an acquired taste, but at the same time, nevertheless one i like, and one i have a right to like. To me, a high voice= femininity and beauty. Am i therefore saying that a low, soulful voice SUCH as mariah carey's isn't? Absolutely not- a phenomenal artiste of her calibur has an extremely gorgeous voice of pure perfection. But at the same time, i do find high (even if they are a little "thin") voices charming in their own right. Who ever said that a slightly thinner, higher, and NOT so powerhouse voice was a crime? Not everybody likes spaghetti!
What?.......2000-04-04
First things first...I am a professional music critic and I also work in a popular record company (which I can not mention for legal reasons), and let me tell you something...! HIGH PITCHED VOICES ARE NOT ALWAYS GOOD!Ok? A soprano that reaches alto tones is a good singer, and an alto (high pitched) is rougher to listen to. There are many altos out there that simply can't sing! Examples: Britney Spears, Graciela Beltran...etc. They just sound like they have an ability to reach high notes because their voices are high pitched to begin with.Graciela's voice is somewhat irritating and annoying. She can't do much with her thin voice. Don't mistake "high voices" for high notes. It's completely different! People with "high voices" don't necessarily reach high. Mariah Carey, for instance, is able to reach any note, high notes and low notes. That's a singer. Not someone with a thin little weak voice. Ok? So don't educate on "high voices" if YOU'RE not educated. As for this CD, don't waste your hard earned money.
