Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A very nice recording.......2005-02-22

Recorded in 1986, this was Howard Alden's premier album under his own leadership, and it's a beauty. Dan Barrett is one of the finest trombonists playing today, and the teamwork between him and Alden is outstanding. "Lullaby in Rhythm" and a stompin', rompin' version of "Cottontail" are the standout performances. Although the same group would record another album for Concord 3 years after this one, that one in tribute to Buck Clayton and only a tad better than this, this release is highly recommended.
