4 out of 5 stars Good idea, but lacks.......2003-11-21

It lacks jazz and grunge. Reading the title you might think grunge is the texture to experiment on jazz (the other way round doesn't make much sense), but when you listen to it you get the feeling the jazz hasn't got much work on it and the sound is more like erratic boring 80's metal. On the whole the cd is quite good, though not meritory of 4 stars. So i suppose your question will be regarding the why of the four stars.
Well, as I said before jazz grunge IS a great idea and if there were more groups willing to experiment on this new genre we'd find a great alternative to canned music, and a new horizon in jazz sound, and though many people won't agree with me experimenting is something I consider highly.
I believe that it is very brave to go through such pains as releasing a cd with very little public, and considering very little is interested in it.
If you'd be more willing to consider the cd without a more objective opinion (regarding the apparent paradox) I'd give it three stars for anyone interested in any of both genres (especially for the curious kind) and two to none if you don't fall in neither f them.
