I picked this CD up when I was in Tokyo last year (it had just come out I think). I listened to it that night and was very pleasantly surprised. This is a jazz trio of bass, piano, and drum set playing songs that are "standards" of a jazz repertoire. There's an Ellington chart, some nice ballads (such as When you Wish Upon a Star and Smoke Gets in Your Eyes), along with some fun numbers. Rounding it out in the middle is Ohno's own "Theme from Lupin III" which is a nice playful arrangement of the '78 composition. The song selection is balanced and enjoyable, and the recording quality is superb. All Lupin fans would enjoy this CD, but all jazz fans will adore it as well. This album definitely rates in my top five jazz combo albums. If you like jazz, GET THIS CD!
