Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Cool!.......2004-02-06

A worthwhile experiment for one of the Philippines' singing divas. She should come out with more albums; she's got a wonderful voice and a unique singing style!

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful album for singer with a wonderful voice!.......2004-01-29

This album throws off some of Ms. Ledesma's fans, but this is actually a good experiment. The songs are nice and the interpretation is consistently good.

For those who want to hear the 'trademark Kuh' sound, she has plenty of excellent albums released in the Philippines

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful album!.......2004-01-21

I love her voice. She has a unique sound I haven't heard rom any American singer. The songs are good; they put you in a cool and refreshing mood. It's albums like this that need to be extensively marketed, not these so-called pop tunes from mediocre no-talent "singers" like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Madonna!

4 out of 5 stars Kuh Ledesma's voice explores a new sound.......2001-11-28

A name synonymous with great singing of love songs and ballads whose voice sounds luscious in her albums and more in live concerts, Kuh Ledesma delivers an innovative sound and style with Precious. Unlike her former CD's (she has around ten or more for the past twelve years) which explore Kuh's magic and artistry in standards, pop and love ballads, Kuh's desire to try a new direction in her ability to create music led to this body of work. The CD enables the listener to imagine a beautiful island of paradise with the repertoire she presents. The songs are great and different (by the second time I listen to it, Kuh has made me want the songs more than ever) from the usual winning formula of her mimicking/singing like Streisand. But like anyone who knows she does not want to disappoint fans like me, Kuh delivers a great ballad, Love Begins With You. Here is a great Filipina who has come out with an innovative sound. Get it for your own pleasure.

5 out of 5 stars KUH'S PRECIOUS VOICE REACHES THE UNITED KINGDOM.......2001-09-30

I first discovered the golden voice of Kuh after obtaining the album 'The Soul of Smooth Jazz Vol. 2', released in the UK by Jazz FM. That CD features the tracks 'Lover's Journey' and 'Dreaming' and when i heard them, I had to investigate this artist's work further. The CD 'Precious' is, I would say, one of the best buys I've made in a long time. The track' Keep On Loving Me' encapsulates the spirit and mood of the CD and Kuh's rendition of the Doobie Brothers classic 'What a Fool Believes' demonstrates that she 'keeps her finger on the soulful pulse; it also demonstrates her incredible vocal range, as does the moving ballad 'Love Begins With You'. I first heard 'Love Will Follow' on Kenny loggins' album 'Outside-Live From The Redwoods and he teamed up with Shanice for his rendition of the song which he wrote. Kuh's version is good but lacks the length of Kenny's version. 'Moonlight', 'Silence' and 'I Remember Your Love' all demonstrate the fact that Kuh knows how to 'put a song across' in her own unique style. I say 'unique' as I know from other reviews that she has been compared to Barbra Streisand; I don't agree. Whilst both are excellent vocalists, their work, I think, is aimed at different audiences. Barbra has her own style and, thankfully, Kuh has hers. Their recorded material, whilst featuring strings, horns, etc, stands out as different to anyone who has a musical ear. I took this CD to Gibraltar recently and when played, many asked wwith interest who it was. That speaks for itself! I look forward to future releases by this artist.
