Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Very Entertaining!.......2003-01-11

What a gem of tongue-in-cheek performance.
The tracks - not all very krisp - are all recorded live at various places in the (San Francisco) Bay Area. I got the impression of sitting in a smoky club surrounded by strange folk, all the while being called to 'join in our dance of Pagan Glory". The lead singer has a beautiful range, and emotes well.
The instrumentals, although rough, are full of little changes and extras, like bells and changes in tempo, such as one would expect during one of Frank Zappa's concerts. They have fun with it. One song has reference to Jack Horner - don't know if they are talking about the famous Paleontologist.
Track #3 is a cute risque rhyme, reminiscent of the kind one hears at the Renaissance Festival. Track 5 is all instrumental, switching between Jazz guitar and sad violin.
Elements of track #9 sound like the theme music of an early James Bond movie, until they begin the vocals.

Overall I liked it. If you're into Goth, paganism, or just enjoy music that is cute and out of the main stream, you might enjoy this. I'll most likely get another of their albums.
